I have for sale a very nice 5900 series lathe. Located in kansas city. I will not ship it. I put step pulleys from a 10" lathe on it and changed out the hydralic varible speed for a VFD. It has new half nuts, 3 jaw chuck,4 jaw chuck. If you have any questions give me a call or text at 913 636 6107. Asking $2500

The original motor is it for sale

me too I am looking for an old, 2 hp, 3 ph, 1740 rpm, 184 frame, DOERR MOTOR prefered so the wiring will be the same that originaly came in a 5914 Clausing lathe
anybody got one under the bench

Mabey one of you guys that converted over to a VFD.....and still got the old motor mine for what ever reason is bent and vibrating the entire lathe at an idle shaft has .oo4 tir WOW that wont do so I cut it down to
.7515 and I'll make a brass bushing 1.1265 x .750 and press it in the newer pulley that has a bigger bore, for a new style motor with a 1.125 shaft commonly known as a, 184t frame. One request though (there's always a catch) please indicate the shaft and see if its a unmolested true running motor.

Thanks Dennis it does not have to be a Doerr l suppose
as long as all the specs are the same,Leeson Baldor? I suppose Clausing put whatever was the chepaest contract at the time? price wise...

5914 motor

Don I went and got it out it is not a dorre it is a relund but it is original and ran good when removed I put a 2HP single phase motor on it as I didn't have 3PH or a converter. I forgot how to post pics. so the quickest way is just get me your email and I will send you some pics.

Hello, can I ask why you will not ship the lathe ? There are several companies around that can come pick the lathe up and deliver it to whomever buys it. I am up near Chicago, I may be interested in the lathe, but I would have to have it shipped. Let me know if that may be possible.
