    Subprogram end of program error

Richard, make sure you have the semicolon at the end of the M99 line (and every line!), example: program text; program text; G91G28Z0; M99; If you don't have the semicolon, the machine doesn't see that line as completed. For the others, the M400 and M401 codes turn on and off the Chip Wash...

    Brother power issues?

Strange situation. Seems to be pointing towards faulty connections. Machine should run well with between 200 and 230 V. Run on the higher side if you can. Another thing to check is there is a transformer inside the control cabinet you can adjust the taps on. This controls the 100 V supply...

Brother Speedio Auto Grease system - Balancing Problem?

If it had plain old zerks, you would still need to inspect the plastic lines regularly and make sure the grease is getting where you want it and not just gushing out wherever...

Brother Speedio Auto Grease system - Balancing Problem?

Good reminder here. According to chapter 9 of the Installation Manual included with the machines, it is recommended to remove the way covers every month or 150 hours and clean chips out. Also while you are there, check the grease lines and presence of grease at the four linear guide trucks, on...

How old of Brother is TOO old?

Likely will need to upgrade main NC board and local board with software version 23 or higher I believe. Parts are available new or some folks get lucky and find them used...

5 Axis Machine vs part choice

You know what happens when you assume things... The clamp torque is very substantial. All M300Xd1 in Yamazen stock have double A axis brake with 800 lb/ft holding power. C axis is 330 lb/ft. To put that in perspective that is about the same as the very stout Yukiwa TNT-170 tilting rotary and...

5 Axis Machine vs part choice

Have you checked out the M300Xd1 5AX? About 15" Z travel, from 4.7" to 19.7" above the tilting centerline. Table face plate is 1.2" below the tilting centerline so spindle face is about 21" above table at home. Jig area is about a 17.7" Diameter cylinder, 14" tall. 28 Tools, Big Plus, 1000 psi...

How old of Brother is TOO old?

Pre- S2A machines will be 229, 228, 227, 225... (1997 and earlier). you have to watch out because these are typically Conversation only or you may find one with G-code. Even if G-code it will be very limited memory and no drip feeding. A00 machines started coming with drip feed capability (Tape...

Tool holder for a Taiwan Takasawa NEX-105

Curious if the Japanese Takisawa TCC-1100 12 station or possibly TCC-2100 turret tooling is compatible. Are you looking for ID tool adapters? Can you post up the bolt pattern and keyway size etc...? The TCC-2100 has 66 x 45 mm bolt pattern. I think the TCC-1100 is smaller but I don't have that...

Brother TC22-A how add a tool break detector

terminals 11 and 12 on the XTIO terminal block on the IO board. Is where we have hooked these up. M120 looks for that signal. So if you feed down past the trigger point on the tool probe with your tool, stop and put an M120 in your program, if the tool is not there you will get a Tool Broken...
