Never going to happen..... making a perfect laser isn't cheap... making a cheap laser isn't good either. Optics take precision = lots of $$ to make. had other companies say they were 25K-75K usd depending on size.
DOM isnt bad at all, about $10-20 a foot. Try to source chrome moly roll cage........ $700 a 20 ft stick plus shipping across the border to the tune of $500 or so.
problem is that grizzly might look like its doing a good job, but the deflection in that machine you cant see the 1-3 thou divots as it cuts and loads then springs back and unloads. Small machines move too much, and a pump body like that needs to be accurate or it won't hold or build pressure or...
Same, floor space is a premium, even with a few thousand square feet, it fills up fast, and typically within a week anything laser cut is ready to use and cheaper then I can buy a whole sheet for.
Ive only done that once, part jumps, jams your thumb into the wheel and half the nail is missing on one side. Bonus is it will shave it off and burn it shut at the same time so it doesnt bleed.
Completely makes sense why the tool tables go to 100 and the tool positions have 1/5 that for tool positions. Never took any training for these machines and definitely helps learning this on my own. I'm surprised my post processor I have never output the tools like this either.
Its a Bridgeport copy, made by jet, imported from overseas. They will have all their own parts separate from a Bridgeport.
the missing feed handle can easily be made on a lathe. My prevous owner did of my manual mill that was an import copy
This is the one scenario where you can only make programs from a Cad/Cam program that knows the exact outline of the tool to get the proper chamfers if you are trying to do that when programming on the machine. Regular chamfer tools will work like a chamfer mill drill, but not an inserted...
Always wondered what I was doing wrong on a fanuc machine, Only ever went T01 to change a tool, and never went T0101 for the offset and wondered why my offsets never seemed to push through in to the control. Always thought the offset was the H01. Just trying to learn fanuc on my own.
