why are laser cleaning machines so expensive?

Never going to happen..... making a perfect laser isn't cheap... making a cheap laser isn't good either. Optics take precision = lots of $$ to make. had other companies say they were 25K-75K usd depending on size.

Tips for refacing large aluminim parts on a small lathe needed.

problem is that grizzly might look like its doing a good job, but the deflection in that machine you cant see the 1-3 thou divots as it cuts and loads then springs back and unloads. Small machines move too much, and a pump body like that needs to be accurate or it won't hold or build pressure or...

Looking for advice, New to Fanuc, did a 120 block program today.

Completely makes sense why the tool tables go to 100 and the tool positions have 1/5 that for tool positions. Never took any training for these machines and definitely helps learning this on my own. I'm surprised my post processor I have never output the tools like this either.

Please help only dumb questions are the ones I don’t ask. Hahaha!!

Its a Bridgeport copy, made by jet, imported from overseas. They will have all their own parts separate from a Bridgeport. the missing feed handle can easily be made on a lathe. My prevous owner did of my manual mill that was an import copy

Hass Mill tool probing (VPS) question

This is the one scenario where you can only make programs from a Cad/Cam program that knows the exact outline of the tool to get the proper chamfers if you are trying to do that when programming on the machine. Regular chamfer tools will work like a chamfer mill drill, but not an inserted...

Looking for advice, New to Fanuc, did a 120 block program today.

Always wondered what I was doing wrong on a fanuc machine, Only ever went T01 to change a tool, and never went T0101 for the offset and wondered why my offsets never seemed to push through in to the control. Always thought the offset was the H01. Just trying to learn fanuc on my own.
