Need simulation of a motor design

Friend needs someone to run simulation. Anyone know of someone who can run a simulation and get numbers for an electric motor. NDA work obviously based on the IP I have been working on. Simulation with any software is ok. Just need reports. The Engineer I hired on Upwork is starting to...

Does myasthenia gravis mean the victim should be terminated?

Ok, u r correct of course, so maybe consider moving them to less dangerous job would be an alternative. I think if I ignored it and the MG-afflicted person is injured, I‘m guilty of negligence.

Does myasthenia gravis mean the victim should be terminated?

This malady disrupts signals from nerves to muscles. It is treatable but not curable. How did or would you handle such a case? We have one now. I need to know if the victim is more likely to injure himself.

Milling Thin and Deep Channel on Vertical Mill

Shishkabob before baking. Ordinary beam clamps were used to squeeze open end. A shim was placed in the slot to limit the amount it could close.

Milling Thin and Deep Channel on Vertical Mill

I’m in same shop, took the liberty of editing Wakeless’ pic to see the difference in before (left) and after (right) baking. It is easy to see the unwanted V-shape on left and the desired parallel, sides of slot on the right. Unplated sheet steel was cut to cover both long sides of workpiece...

Milling Thin and Deep Channel on Vertical Mill

Yes technically speaking the 24-in. Shaper is capable, we did think about that briefly but it fell off the chart because we’d have to make a special tool (cutter) and maybe a custom tool holder for it.

Milling Thin and Deep Channel on Vertical Mill

I’m working on this too. Wakeless set this up on the horiz. Mill and it ran fine. He only took off about .300 per pass because we wanted to play safe given the 8” saw on a 1” arbor, and time wasn’t a factor. Some video:

    Gage block cleaning

Friend posted this on our local machinist forum but I didn’t see any good answers yet, so: “ Is a way to clean well used, old gage blocks that have small discolored areas (from light grey to almost black), but no where near complete sides or ends. These are working blocks, not top inspection...

Cinci no. 2 plain horiz spindle lock

We put a short oak plank under one spindle lug, lower end sitting on rear flange of table with table cranked back against column. That totally immobilized the spindle in direction needed. Then a wrench with 3 foot pipe helper got it loose. We’d been using penetrant and some heat. Nut didn’t...

Cinci no. 2 plain horiz spindle lock

Operator needed to remove arbor today, nut wouldn’t loosen, and he couldn’t find a spindle lock, I didn’t have time to go help, pls tell me whether there’s a spindle lock and where it is. I’ll make sure he’s turning it correct direction. We have manual but didn’t find spindle lock.

    Expandable reamer stability

Friend asked me how these reamers keep from wandering while reaming since the flutes are so much shorter than solid reamers with more flutes. No idea. Educate me?? Are the expandable reamers used differently than solid ones? Are results of the two types comparable? The rack in photo is...

Thanks. Like anyone who has been in biz, we like to minimize risks, so the contract pretty much ensures we’ll get paid since payment in advance is required. We’ve also met with the person a couple times to see exactly how he wants to work, and all looks ok. We’d go thru a similar process...
