    CNC Lathe advice for R&D Prototyping Shop

    I have a 2004 TL-1 and I also love, hate it. It is my most used machine for the work I do which is simlar to what you are doing. Good luck making your choice, I dont think you will get a TL for under 40k but you might. Charles

    new to this brand-

    Last quote I had for a CMX was pre pandemic and it was $200k, that is with a fourth axis table and high pressure coolant thru plus a few other options. I agree with the basic mechanics of the machine, one is on my short list for future purchases, but those are on hold for now. Charles

    I would look more at Makino, DMG has nice machines and they are very capable but Makino has made their name in mold and die work for decades. Just my opinion, I do not own either one of them but I have not seen many DMG in mold shops here in the Southern US. Many more Makino's. Charles
