Chipped corner on 2 flute end mill. Any fixes?

Heavy cut as in accidentally raising the bed while it was taking a light cut (dumbass move).. I use a Cincinatti toolmaster 1C mill. I believe it has about 2.5hp it's 3 phase, and is geared, it has too much ass for my accident prone self if anything :Ithankyou:

Chipped corner on 2 flute end mill. Any fixes?

I will be attempting to grind some relief into the chipped corner. I will slowly remove material then try cuts in aluminum until I get a desired finish. If not, it'll look good taped to the front of my mill to remind me to properly fixture parts.

She cut like a dream until my dumbass obviously didn't fixture the work in the vice very well...

Chipped corner on 2 flute end mill. Any fixes?

Thanks for the advice. I try to get all my milling tools off ebay as well because of the great prices. I got this Niagara 3/4" shank 1" cut diameter hss end mill for $12. I will be looking out for a similar one. But in the meantime I'll probably experiment with the chipped corner as regardless...

Chipped corner on 2 flute end mill. Any fixes?

GregSY, thanks for your response. I am on a cincinatti toolmaster 1C. NMTB40 taper. I use ETM spring collet holders which go up to 1" in holding diameter capacity. I don't do enough work with end mills to invest in proper holders with set screws. I believe this particular end mill has a shank...

Chipped corner on 2 flute end mill. Any fixes?

Hi experts. I was taking a 'heavy' pass through some mild steel earlier today and forgot that my vice is a bit undersized for my machine.... Seems newbie karma got me, the stock pulled out of my vice and decided to fling around a bit. In doing so smacking into my favorite, and only 1" Niagara...

Best tool for achieving a deep milled finish (Such as those of a milled Putter)

I do not intend to base a career off machining putters, it's more of a hobby. I understand my remarks are harsh, but as someone who is constantly playing with older, retired, rich, golfers I get to see the majority of them on the course and understand how they are. I used harsh remarks in order...

Best tool for achieving a deep milled finish (Such as those of a milled Putter)

The golfers will fall for anything. The grooves do cause more change in the direction if not struck perfectly (a straight back and through stroke), but it's marketed to "improve control" (like your average golfer has any control haha).

Best tool for achieving a deep milled finish (Such as those of a milled Putter)

I will give it a go. As a 17 year old, I am in it for the pocket money. :D

Best tool for achieving a deep milled finish (Such as those of a milled Putter)

Scotty Cameron (The old dude who's full of himself) does not use any cnc for the actual face milling. Here's a video. It shows the tool used, but as an relatively new machinist I am unable to identify it. Seems like a two flute indexable which uses triangular inserts? There's honestly not much...
