WTB: Steady rest for Monarch 14C

The steady rest is 9" to the center. Not sure about your monarch but my 13" 61 series, has a actual swing of 15.5 but when you measure a tool that is on center to flat way, you get a height of 8.25". So you may want to check that on your machine. I know the steady rest that I have goes to a...

    My new Monarch 60/61 lathe

I dont think it should be a problem. I am not going to use the vfd to vary the speed of the motor, just going to keep it at 60hz and use the speeds that the lathe provides through the headstock.

    My new Monarch 60/61 lathe

I was also able to spend sometime getting all the wiring, mostly done. I'm still waiting on a din breaker for the 110v circuit but was able to get the VFD wired up and all of the original controls wired into the vfd. I add ON/Off buttons because the only way to turn the machine on before was...

    My new Monarch 60/61 lathe

Well, I got chance to get back in the shop and do a little more work on the monarch. Opened up the headstock and looked everything over, as far as I can tell everything looks good in there. I am going to take the oil lines off and make sure they are all sending oil as they should. Here is a...

    My new Monarch 60/61 lathe

Yea, I was pretty happy to find out that it was the higher top speed when I went and looked at it, I think it will be a great addition to the shop. I am really looking forward to using it but trying to make sure I do my due diligence before I start making to many chips with it. I need to...

    My new Monarch 60/61 lathe

Yep, I have already taking out the old contactor, as its 440v and I cant use it. I am going to use the old push buttons switches but they will have to be rewire, so that they run through the low voltage inputs on the vfd. Hopefully I will get sometime over Christmas to get out in the shop and...
