Horse feathers and bear squat. I've put photos up before, it's always just bla bla dreamers wacking off or some nitwit with a moore #3 cnc jig grinder so not worth the effort, but no. Wrongo wrongo, kemo sabe. Real machines in small size. and btw haas sells one with their own full control...- EmGo

Nonsense. There are several decently made, decent designs, cast iron, ballscrew, servo motor, real control desktop mills. A few even have tool changers. They are limited in size but are real machines and do real work, even if it is small.- EmGo

Inch threads work better mechanically than metric threads, too, but that didn't stop anyone. -

Have you got coyotes moving into the neighborhood ? I was surprised to find they kill and eat cats; with them claws I thought cats were pretty safe. And coyotes seem to be becoming more daring. Actually, no. It's been more than a hundred years since people would build a bridge by eye then walk fifty horses and wagons on it in the hopes it would not fall down. Outside of Florida, that is. And Missouri, where people are not 'creepy' but they do seem to be a bit behind the times...- EmGo

20 hp Eagle ran happily on 100 amp service. Larger motors can take more, for example drilling 3" holes with an insert drill, no way to back down that power requirement but ... that's utility-supplied three-phase, not the stuff made by chopping up single-phase and redistributing it. btw, it's... -

You've just demonstrated it yourself. The parts were so bad you had to face them in a lathe and they already blew the keys out where your phenolic ones never did that. You're spending dozens and dozens of hours trying to prove that some gloop squirted out of a tube is as good as reinforced...- EmGo

What's best for people who have an actual need of functioning gears is that they buy some phenolic, cut it into squares, turn those into round blanks, pop them on an arbor, set the index and feedrate and half an hour later have several accurate, functioning parts with known, dependable...- EmGo
