    this would absolutely be a great idea if i had all the money up front to do it... unfortunately i dont, therefore starting with something i have and slowly building it up, makes a lot more sense TO ME.

    i mean i'm already at almost 1500sf. i'd rather improve my own barn, invest into my own property than give rent money to someone else.

    thats not terrible, but can be better if you want to spend the time on aligning. so just to remind me, is your spindle axis out of alignment or z rails out of alignment?

    misunderstanding indeed. you dont align the table to the spindle, or to the z axis, typically the spindle and/or z axis rails would get aligned to the table, but the spindle axis and z axis rails are 2 completely independent components that require its own alignment. yes, one of them was...

    how else are you going to ensure both are perpendicular?

    the spindle can be adjusted to be perpendicular to the table independent of the z axis rails.

    why is it unusual? they are 2 different components and as such can and do have their own individual adjustments.
