    1/2-20 thread used where?

Probably THE most common non-metric thread for wheel lug nuts/bolts.

Probably didn't really help. You still have to have the animal for testing or get the shots anyway.

Looking for recommendations for flexible "fabric" way covers.

The quote above talks about rubber sheeting but that part number shows up as nylon. Won't shrug off a hot chip.

Electric Motor Shaft Alignment and Motor Mounting

Ok. Looking at the pic I thought you were going to make it a 'roll-around'. For sure no flexible mounts on the coupled motors. McMaster has some spiffy isolators graded for various weights. 'Tuned' with the caps it will be quieter too. I made my first RPC and it worked, but was pretty noisy...

Looking for recommendations for flexible "fabric" way covers.

Mine was 3/32. For mounting, I sandwiched the ends of the sheet between 3/4" wide aluminum strips and through-bolted to the mill saddle on one end, made an aluminum bracket at the top of the base dovetail for the other end, mounted the same way. With that setup the sides were open but it was...

That might be for prolonged exposure. I routinely scatter hot ones on the neoprene and so far no issues at all. My machines, and my chips, are not huge though. And, it's rare for a chip to land flat since they're always curled so you're typically looking at edge contact and rapid cooling.

That is for sure the safest thing to do. From what I've read the new shots aren't bad, hopefully that's what you'll get.

Electric Motor Shaft Alignment and Motor Mounting

Looks great! RPC noise can be extremely annoying. You might consider rubber isolation mounts between the main plate and the caster pads.

EmGo, get over it. You are the only one in the world who refuses to see the obvious.

What about carbide? Dimensional control with PCD/CBN is one thing, but how does the toughness/hardness of imported carbide compare? I've seen some very poor quality brazed carbide tooling from china, but also some pretty good inserts. Like eKretz, I'd like to know which can be relied on.

Electric Motor Shaft Alignment and Motor Mounting

Use a single mounting plate for the two motors. Construct an elevated platform on the base plate to achieve vertical alignment between the two shafts. Mount the larger motor, attach the coupler halves and slide the small motor into position. You can eyeball the angular alignment and probably get...

anchors in block and brick walls?

Are the blocks hollow? My shop is of cinder-block construction but it is 100% grouted with concrete with lots of rebar. If yours are grouted you'll have no problems. Often, commercial block buildings will have one or more bond-beams which can also serve as good anchor points.

    That's another problem. There isn't a test.

Can't be sure, but I think the motor itself said 'made in Brazil'. Mine is not a completely fair comparison with the Baldor because the Baldor unit is nearly twice the HP and weight of the WEG it replaced. And, the Baldor is a slower-turning 4-pole motor (pump speed maintained with pully swap).

Problem 1: rabies has a lengthy incubation period Problem 2: treatment after onset of symptoms does not work, and at that point it is always fatal in humans If you can't get the bat tested, you better be damn sure the bite didn't break the skin!
