RFQ or contact for small stainless castings

I'm working on a project, and would like to have some small (about 0.4 lbs) parts cast in 316 stainless steel. Initial quantity would probably be about 250. Does anyone here do small stainless castings, or have a good contact for someone who does? I can supply a 3D AutoCad file in .dwg or .dxf...

RFQ - 316 SS Threaded Fastener

I am in need of some small 316 SS threaded fasteners like in the attached picture. As a size reference, the largest diameters are 0.300" and the threads are #8-32. The male piece is about 1" long, and the female a little less than 1/2". Probably a batch of 50 each. If interested, please send...

RFQ: Small housings from rectangular stainless tube.

I am looking for someone to supply a small quantity (100) of housings like the one in the picture below. These are made from stainless steel rectangular tubing, 1" x 1/2" x 16ga. wall and 3" long. Either 304 or 316 stainless is acceptable. There are moving components located within the...

Any experience with cryogenic treated 17-4?

The holes range from 1/8" to 1/4" in "diameter", but they are actually a goofy sort of triangular shape. Temperatures are less than 200°F. Why is it that nitriding would not be effective for smaller holes? I'm pretty new at this facility, so I'll have to ask why we use 17-4 instead of other...

Any experience with cryogenic treated 17-4?

Jeff, You are right in the Cryo doesn't harden the material. According to some accounts, it improves the abrasion resistance, though. PJF134 - I'll look into the carbide coating. Do you have any contacts for companies that can do it?

Any experience with cryogenic treated 17-4?

Maybe. The holes aren't round, though, which could complicate things a little. The bigger problem is that almost any realin change in materials would have to be cleared with the customer. Cryogenic treatment, if it works, would not require approval, because it's the same material.

Any experience with cryogenic treated 17-4?

Nitriding is certainly one of the options that I want to experiment with. I'm just having some trouble sorting out the truth about cryogenic treatment as another option. I have no personal experience using it, and as you say, I haven't been able to find what I considered to be a reliable test...

Any experience with cryogenic treated 17-4?

At work, we use 17-4 dies in an extruder machine. These dies are essentially a 6" diameter disc, about 3/16" thick, with many small holes. The extruded material is abrasive, and the holes begin to wear pretty quickly. After a time, the extruded product is oversized, and the die is replaced...

    Help troubleshooting 3hp RPC

Dave5605 - Good Call! I did not have 240 from hot to hot all the way through, and one hot was feeding back exactly as you described. I traced it back to my fuses, and found that one, which looked perfectly fine, did not have continuity. Moral for me - Don't just eyeball the fuses. Check them...
