LD Laser Machines - 80KW insanity

I have a waterjet business, I have been drooling over these lasers, Obvious downsides with a Chinese machine being parts and support but holy shit the speed and power of these things. - I wonder what the power requirements look like. Are there any north american manufactures getting anywhere...

    Maxcut CNC Machines?

Anyone here used Maxcut CNC machines? My understanding is that they originate from Buffalo Manufacturing in Taiwan. Specifically I am looking at a used MCV-1100, its a 40"x20" travel machine, Cat 40, boxway, 10k spindle, Fanuc Control I can barely find any info on these machines anywhere, I...

Fadal 4020 reviving rigid tapping capabilities but running into spindle overload.

I have a 1994 Fadal 4020HT with the 88HS control. As far as I can tell this machine left the factory with rigid tapping installed or it was installed later. It has the right puzzle pieces, wiring is there, encoder is there, rigid tapping spindle drive. The only missing piece is that there was a...

    Fanuc 21-T dead rs232 comms

Bill, I tried 2-3 and 3-2 anyways and it worked. I can now send files to and from the machine... so relieved. Any idea why this machine would be configured this way? I have poured over this machine and it doesnt look like anything was messed with... Thanks everyone for all your help.

    Fanuc 21-T dead rs232 comms

Hi Bill 1. Xon Xoff, none 2. 7 - also tried 8 3. 2 - also tried 1 4. Even 5. 2400, 4800, 9600 In the past I have been able to send a file from other machines to the DNC4U program wizard then the program records the correct settings so that I can send programs back. But I cant get a single byte...

    Fanuc 21-T dead rs232 comms

I cant get any details on the previous setup unfortunately. I have half of the cable that they used as it was cut when the machine was removed. Im hopefully getting some manuals soon. I think I will try and make a different cable config. The cable I have is a straight through but heck I will...

    Fanuc 21-T dead rs232 comms

Hello everyone I have a new to me Daewoo Lynx 200B lathe, I need some assistance in troubleshooting the RS232 Communications. The machine uses a Fanuc 21-T control. I would like to say I have tried absolutely everything under the sun to try and communicate with the machine but maybe I missed...

Confounding behavior when homing Daewoo Lynx Lathe

Yea theres no way these shifted in transit, its bolted directly to the casting. Its been run like this for some time, all I can think is that they were running the machine without homing the x axis? Got the spindle running thanks!!

Confounding behavior when homing Daewoo Lynx Lathe

So I took the switch off of the mount, used a half inch spacer to move it into the lanes where it should be and voila, the machine homes. Why could the machine have been configured this way? its so confusing. Now if only I could figure out why the spindle wont run.

Confounding behavior when homing Daewoo Lynx Lathe

As far as I can see there are no switches being touched at all. - like when the z axis hits its reference, its nearly half an inch away from its dog EDIT So this is extremely weird but it seems to me like the overtravel limit switch is missing a spacer or something. The hard limit switch...

Confounding behavior when homing Daewoo Lynx Lathe

I have a new to me 1998 Daewoo Lynx 200B Lathe with a Fanuc 21-t control. My issues are when I try to reference (home) the machine. The z axis works fine. If I am near the chuck, it rapids away until its about 3" from its home and creeps until it hits its reference (home) position then stops...

Baffled By Z offset changing between tool changes

Yep shorty after posting I was noticed the offset being called was H6 and should have been H8. - any idea why the program would have done this? its scary because this time it happened to be calling a longer offset than what was needed but if it calls a shorter offset by accident I will have a...
