Isn't that an M head on that machine? Or a more modern version. In any event that machine calls out for a VFD to run the vertical spindle. The red 10L has the classic signs of a paint-rebuild: the overspray on the timbers it's mounted on.- jim rozen

Check the real current draw with a meter that allows power factor measurement. At 100 amps, 100 percent power factor, something's gonna get real hot, real soon. Theory: the PF is real low.- jim rozen

OT trying to understand a very simple DC motor circuit
A close examination of the schematic reveals there is always a resistor in series with the motor. "Line Resistor" it is called - so the regulator alters the current flow between one limited by the fixed resistor, and the lower one set by the adkustable one. Yes i chit chat with women of all ages. I suspect that anyone who is ignorant of the politics of reproductive health, does not. All woman in AZ will find it tough to get Ob-Gyn care. For VFD academics and circuit level fans. VFD internal operation question?
Sensorless vector drives use the back emf developed when the winding is not energized, to sense the rotor speed. I suspect they use a PID algorithm to adjust the power to the windings to maintain the setpoint speed. The PID constants are computed during an auto-tune sequence where the...- jim rozen
