Denbigh Horizontal milling machine coolant pumps and speeds

Interesting about the springs. It just has pins to keep the vanes the correct distance apart. I rigged it up on a lathe and it primes and works well at surprisingly slow speeds.

Denbigh Horizontal milling machine coolant pumps and speeds

Hi all, I am very close to finishing rebuilding this Denbigh mill. See photos My main query is about the coolant pump, and how fast these are supposed to run. It would be driven directly from the machines countershaft. Also, if anyone else is running these mills, id be interested to hear tips...

    Lineshafting: Idler pulleys and couplers.

Thanks folks for the input, much appreciated. I will go for the tight/ loose for the drill, I think a clutch would be best for the grinder as there is no room for a loose pulley on it. As for the hammer, that idles with almost no motion anyway. I like the idea of the split sleeve joiners that...

    Lineshafting: Idler pulleys and couplers.

Hello, Im Alec, blacksmith from the UK and have built a belt driven workshop with a 6 meter lineshaft after collecting belt driven machines over the last two years. At the moment everything runs at the same time all the time apart from my lathe which has a clutch on its own lay shaft. My...
