Can you please clarify the bolt issues... I mean the hike is 5/8" and you used 1/2" bolts and washer so I am thinking you tensioned the McMaster level pads flush to the bottom of the mill? Kinda confused because these pads have "wobble" to self adjust and makithe flush defeated this feature. I'd...
12 hours Evapo-rust removed 60 years or rust
I am using Evapo-Rust with amazing results - just 12 hours of being immersed it removed 60 years of rust (Hossfield bender) I will also be doing a side-by side comparison of 50% water with 30% Vinegar and 20% hydrogen peroxide Here are some photos of...
Orange is T4. The furnas is different than the Dayton I installed. Your assumption on wiring sound good. But as I mentioned, I opted for the Dayton drum switch.
Well I needed to clear some space in my crowded garage and begin reassembly. It's tight fit and last steps setting up the motor and new forward / reverse switch.
Here is the wiring diagram I used to set-up my split phase motor (and after detaching the two wires from the back of the motor terminal I then had the needed 4 wires as per the diagram... it works perfectly!
Thank you - I successfully completed attaching my drum switch using the attached wiring diagram (for split phase) and once I discovered that by detaching the two wires (that the back of the motor said to switch to change direction) I had the needed 4 wires as indicated in the diagram.
I hope...
Working wiring diagram for single phase to drum switch
Ya I successfully installed my Dayton drum (Forward / reverse) switch to my split-phase motor, and it operates perfectly, both forward - off- and reverse. Here is a drawing that "Glen" did on "justanswer"
Thank you all for...
Thank you all for the response... I'm still a bit confused so I'm going slowly as I proceed if I understand correctly, based on the two wire and ID plate specifying it's reversible, I deduce that yes if I separate the wires from the terminal plate, I will have two separate circuits, that when...
The challenges keep coming as I discovered that the "Powr-Kraft" (Montgomery Wards) 1/4 HP 1725 RPM Split Phase motor that came with the lathe was missing the "drum switch" to allow forward and reverse. So I bought a Dayton (2X441A) drum switch, and see that my motor only has two wires, and the...
Thanks, but after studying the switch and reading way too much about split phase motors, I'm confident I figured out how to wire this set up.
Now I've been testing the best way to scrap off the cardboard where the paint dried... Lives looks like box cutters will work

That is great advise (too late now) but I am going to file off the card board and will use saran wrap of needed on areas that touch. Man this is hard paint!
