Can you print in LEAD?
You can cast lead in silicon rubber molds. You can make silicon rubber molds off a plastic 3d print. You can do all the above in your kitchen (with good vent a hood and respirator for the lead part). All cheaper than a metal 3d print. Ffd could work, it would be easier faster cheaper...- memphisjed

Lathe too heavy - redesign suggestions?
I am wondering to real cost of new control, new servos, new drives, new spindle motor and drive- and bar feeder. The machine has tiny feet under it, the plate on floor distributes weight like snowshoes. Pounds per square foot is what you normally try and reduce.- memphisjed

What’s your experience with desktop Cnc machines
I dug a little into three of the large desktop/bench top size machine builders. Between bing/google translate on both ends I got the impression that they were smaller companies that didn’t have export experience- and didn’t want to hire export/importer to deal with it it. what do you mean by emulated control vs original? A fair number of "lesser" machines are running a real time cpu now. Even a ardiniou is a real time controller.- memphisjed

OT: Hydraulic position / stroke control / end of stroke valves
Only way I have seen accurate hydraulics is proportional valves with encoder feed back. They wouldn’t limit pressure- being as long as piston is moving max pressure will never happen. Best way for obtaining new work
Finding a good hydraulic shop is hard. If you do good work at that all the non machine shop fabricators you do work for will have odd ball parts needed made. If you do work like most hydraulic shops then sending you the base plates with tapped holes is not happening.- memphisjed
