    10ee back gear gearbox/transmission

Slightly old thread - I have not been active for quite a while. I think I have a back gear box with all parts. I will need to check if it’s actually complete.

    Don’t forget something in evaporated!

Just a don’t do what I did post. I have an 8” 4 jaw polish chuck hat had some light rust from sitting. removed the jaws and put it in a covered container of evaporust - life happened and it wound up sitting for several months. Well don’t really know why, but it wound up basically glued into...

Treasure trove archive of lathe documents

Did you create that archive? Asking as I have piles of monarch prints that I got some years back when I bought the parts from a local monarch rebuilder. Have not gone through them (heck I don’t even have the time to work on my actual lathe). At some point they should all be either digitized...

    Photobucket Un-wrecked Threads

Probably should check some of my old threads - I’m fairly certain a lot of the pic links went the pay of hosting issues. Still have all the pics. Been way to busy with actual work - have not had a chance to use the tools for roughly a year.

    Checking floor inclination

Thanks. - and also glad this provided some amusement! Laser or transit is likely solution but since I have not done it before figured it was worth checking. Water levels likly will be used in installation, prob could be part of this solution as well. If we could flood, freeze then leave it...

    Checking floor inclination

So have an install application where the floor is supposed to be within 1/2 degree over an arbitrary distance (install can be arbitrarily long, 100+ feet certainly possible. Local variance (bumps divots etc) are supposed to be within +-20mm. How would you verify the floor before install...

So from the info in the thread Vial cost is $24.64 (total) Ship cost $8.30 (USPS flat rate small box) Total - $32.94 - call it $33 Is this the correct amount? Mail check to above address post #62 - include shipping address and number of vials( on shipping address label) You will be doing a lot...

Group buy of 4 arc-second (0.02mm/m) level vials

Assuming price is as listed I'm still in and can prepay - you should not be fronting all the cost. Im on the opposite coast but no hurry so whatever shipping method works will be fine. Paul

Group buy of 4 arc-second (0.02mm/m) level vials

Late to the party but put me down for one (1) will add it to the pile of projects I never seem to get to. And I do tend to agree with Forrests call but hey these look to be available at reasonable cost.

Looking for a 10EE back gear setup.

Very late to the discussion but I believe I still have a gearbox if needed. I’ll have to verify but reasonably confident everything is there in decent condition. Paul

    Ack! No turn

72 modular and had been working no issue for a bunch of years. All I did was take end belt covers off, could see the tubes partially lighting. As it was working fine, figure I need to inspect everything mice could have gotten into and prob clean connections before delving any further. I’ll be...

    Ack! No turn

So I get to join the people who have debugged a tube drive. Have not used the lathe for months, went to make a part, warm up fine, contractor closes when button lights, hit forward nothing ☹️ Lots of evidence of mice (I hate tiny livestock) so first thing I need to do over the next few days is...

    10ee Carriage stop rod question

Well not planning on pulling mine apparat to check (but maybe I will). Anyway, forces on the rod are quite low, so as long as the removed section is not so large there is no engagement it will still work. Think of it this way, the rod sliding back and forth in a matching radi will have a lot...

    Need help with 10EE lubrication

Monarch's change to headstock oil recommendation for the center sump followes what they changed to with the single sump square dial. Use that, as the original call out was somewhat strange as the headstock oils will mix with use, as others have said time marches on and lubricants have changed...

    Monarch 10ee ELSR Microswitches

Hey a reference to my thread! Yes B-RS are original. The granger parts 3XG48 should work as well but I have not tried them. I bought mine (B-RS) on ebay and just checked there are a bunch on there now and price looks to be roughly the same or less than the Granger part. No I have yet to...
