Chinese lathe good enough for my needs?
That is a italian mill Good brand The SAG 12S is one of the better lathes Better as a Weiler IMHO Both metric and imperial threading Yes the can cut imperial/ US threadsBoth TPI and metric Even without changing gears And for one that is not on the chart (rare) one could always swap gears...- Peter from Holland

It is a divider for the lubrication of the bedways Each position is a different lubrication point Traverse the machine in rapids and then each points get lubricated Go to the next number if you see the oil oozing out After that put it on 0 otherwise it keeps pumping oil Peter -

If you cannot get the nut loose the way seen on the video give it a swing with the wrench in place and let the wrench bump on a piece of steel on the magnet That does the trick in general Peter- Peter from Holland

Should lathe bed be accurately fitted to a heavy cast cabinet?
If the bedways are ground these corresponding bosses were on the magnet So if these bosses were not in the same plane or not shimmed before grinding the bed is twisted Ideal is that these bosses are scraped/ground flat before grinding the ways and the flat surfaces of the cabinet as well...- Peter from Holland

Carbide is ground with diamond wheels The green wheels you probably refere to ,used for manually grinding carbide, are useless on a surfacegrinder IMHO Peter- Peter from Holland

I can provide you with spare flanges depending on the size I have plenty of flanges from ex-Philips machines The biggest diam of the taper of the flange is about 25mm The threaded hole for ejecting the spindle is M26x1.5mm Perhaps a few other sizes as well Jung has 3 different sizes AFAIK I...- Peter from Holland

Cleaning ugly oily floor hack saw mess 30 years worth...
Lye Lye Cheap Cleans very good Not too harmfull for the envirement (Lye only Not the stuff you get from cleaning That depends on what is on the floor)The stronger the faster Strips paint even when strong enough But wear gloves Not to be used on aluminium Peter- Peter from Holland

As Richard started I would like to mention I do not support Israel It is a colonial state The Netherlands recently made excuse for their colonial history to Indonesia and Suriname. I hope some day Israel does the same -

Hardinge colorcode of their brown on old CNC machines
OT perhaps But I have a Hardinge HLV-H that as I was pointed out here has the same brown color as on the older Hardinge CNC machines Anybody happens to know the colorcode ??? The paint washes right off So time for some better paint peter- Peter from Holland
