Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

Well, I scraped up up the funds to buy 'My little pony', the Colt 510. The more I look at the pics the more I wonder which is the copy, Kiwa Colt or Fadal? As soon as the checks clear I will be taking a drive to put my eyeballs on it, see/hear it run, and probably pay for it. Then the challenge...

Been away for about three years, cheap FANUC O-M/C simulation?

Before crashing the machine I am buying I would like to get some practice with FANUC O-M/C on the desktop. Last FANUC I ran was a 3000-C, a bit primitive with leading zeroes and no decimal points. That was over three years ago so I am more than a little rusty. FADAL 88HS was more modern but not...

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

Confirmed the control is O-M/C. Still trying to rustle up funding, did finally get a reasonable quote on moving it. Original owner so still has the shipping brackets and all manuals.

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

Looking to do mostly niche aluminum parts. Not expecting big quantities so no need for a machine so fast it makes me flinch at each tool change and rapid. That actually happened when the shop I bought my old Fadal from demoed its replacement! Officially I am "Retired", but unofficially I need...

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

I managed to make good parts with a 3000-C, so an OM should not be any harder.

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

Wow, I knew inflation was bad but an over $8K quote to move a machine under six hundred miles still surprised me. Continuing the search for a mover.

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

I have not gotten an exact year but "Early 90's" and "Added a lot of memory". I am now looking into moving cost.

Excel Kiwa 510 Colt with 4,180 hours, FANUC OM control, worth buying or white elephant?

Not seeing a sub-forum for these. Been looking for a Fadal 15 to get back to owning a CNC Mill in hope of producing some niche products. I liked my old fadal and the control was easy to use. Have to find a small unit as I only have 1ph. power here, not enough for a larger and easier to find...

Bending 1.25" OD water tubes 90º on a JD2, which material to buy?

I gave up and paid the piper. (No pun.) Ordering from the UK saved me around $400 over buying from a US source. ALL of that savings is shipping, I honestly do not know how industry survives here with shipping cost being so insane. From the UK my shipping and item cost are nearly the same. I...

Bending 1.25" OD water tubes 90º on a JD2, which material to buy?

Car is a Lotus Europa. 1.25" seems to be an "Odd" size in the sourcing world. Originals were thin plain steel, some folk have used exhaust pipe. I would something a bit more durable.

Bending 1.25" OD water tubes 90º on a JD2, which material to buy?

I have been looking for .085 wall. I have the 1.25"x3.5R dies. I thought of Cerrobend but that would also be very expensive for a one time use. I've looked at buying bends and welding, that may be my last resort as I really prefer single piece tubes. Water transfer tubes run from the radiator up...

Bending 1.25" OD water tubes 90º on a JD2, which material to buy?

Beating my head against this obstacle, WHICH alloy to use in making new 1.25" OD water transfer tubes? No idea which stainless the tubes vendors sell are made from. I expect they have a mandrel bender, I do not. Just buying transfer tubes and having them shipped appears to be about $900.00 now...

SIOUX Valve grinder set. SIOUX Valve grinder set. Everything works, not unusual for all metal American made tools.

Clark CFY60 forklift clutch and flywheel removal?

"an eccentric bolt to adjust pinion/ring gear clearance" I will have to look for that as it seems the pinion teeth may have been skipping over the ring gear. Fifty years of experience guy is trying to convince me my ring gear is the wrong size. If it were any larger it would never fit through...
