Sharpening drills from ¾" to 1"

Here are some links to brochures for the Harig Steptool and for the Relief Grinding Fixture: http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/2804/24406.pdf http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/2804/24405.pdf http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/2804/4250.pdf http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/2804/4249.pdf

Sharpening drills from ¾" to 1"

OK, now I know what you're talking about. I have one of those somewhere. When you said a Harig Cam fixture, I was envisioning something that ground cam plates. A manual for the relief grinding tool would be useful... Supposedly that relief grinding tool can grind all of these forms...

Opening up the ID of an aluminum tube

I've done a fair amount of brass musical instrument repair and fabrication of missing or damaged parts using dent balls, which aren't balls at all. They are typically oblong in shape (round in cross section), so the enlarging is more gradual than the curve of a ball. The balls are on a cable...

    Reversing Contactors Wiring Diagram

OK, convinced me. I have an Allen Bradley 505 contactor on the way.

what are the different styles of flaking called?

I think it is half moon. I thought it was more square, but here are the photos. The first one is original flaking on a machine that has never been overhauled. The ways are hardened, so the flaking is not as deep. The other two are a mix of original and re-scraping.

what are the different styles of flaking called?

I am actually searching for information on how to do different styles of flaking. I would like to learn the style used on Deckel mills. I have a Biax flaker, but my efforts look like typical Bridgeport factory flaking. I am sure there are threads on this topic in this forum, but I don't know...

    taking .01 off raw stock

Larry got it right: use a table saw. One with a feeder would give a nice finish.

    Reversing Contactors Wiring Diagram

So why is the electrical interlock not sufficient? Assume the motor is running in fwd. If the reverse switch is actuated, the nc contact on the switch opens, and the fwd coil is de-energised. If it fails to release or it is slow, that is not a problem because the reverse control path goes...

Need help with Error 20 on my Deckel FP2NC Dialog 3

I have two sets of spare D2 boards. One is the spare set I bought from Ross and the other is the set that came in my FP2NC. I ran into board problems a couple times, so having the spare set was good insurance and made it easy to solve the problem. I have since upgraded to D4, so first thing I...

    Leitz Optical Rotary Table

This thread is for Leitz optical rotary table info, pics, descriptions, etc. I will start it with a description of the 20” optical rotary table that came with my Peterson drill press. The lever operates a pair of hydraulic cylinders that either lift the table or lock it, not sure which, but...

    Reversing Contactors Wiring Diagram

Looking for a wiring diagram for a pair of contactors to support instant motor reverse (i.e. you don't have to press stop first). The diagrams I found from Siemens and Cutler Hammer were for a single reversing contactor, not a pair. This is for a drill press with a three phase motor. The...

Sharpening drills from ¾" to 1"

Just a small square. The cutting lip needs to be vertical. Actually I advance it slightly so that after it is ground the result is vertical.

    Peterson Gear Head Machine

x Please do so. I'll contribute, and it will be a good motivation to get the table working. The rotary table setup on the drill press made more sense to me when I saw the tag on the machine from the original owner: LADWP, Los Angeles Water and Power. I think they used it to machine large...
