Looking for specific metric equipment bolt

If you have to make them I would suggest starting with a high grade flat head screw and modifying it with a bonded on collar and the head turned on a lathe to reduce its diameter as needed. Brownells Oxpho Blue is an excellent cold blue for tooling and easy to apply to the bare parts as needed.

Belt Drive theory and basic knowledge ... for a practical example

The belt drive Harleys push a lot more HP and torque so yes, an appropriately sized belt can work.

    Fixing torn plastic case

Loctite makes a glue for vinyl, plastic and fabric that works very well on both vinyl and bondable plastics. It is available in most hardware stores. For the living hinges I would suggest cutting away the part at the case junction and then bonding/screwing on some of those tiny box hinges they...

Advice for a lathe for a makerspace

Also important to have signed releases that they recognize the risks. IMO makerspaces serve an important function in a time when traditional manual arts have been declining for decades. I wish you success.

    O/T: a strong bear and 20th anniversary

    O/T: a strong bear and 20th anniversary

Bears are incredibly strong. I've heard them described as a sensitive nose attached to a huge appetite, equipped with all the tools needed to obtain food. I've seen photos of vehicles where they had hooked their claws into the top of a door and then folded the window section down like it was...

OT: finger tips and indications of health?

I know of one way finger tips can indicate health - a Pulse Oximeter.

    Meuser Lathe Wooden Gear?

I use old rifle cartridges past their useful reloading life as file cleaners. I just pinch the neck flat with pliers, put a slight bend in it and have at it. The larger cartridges make a comfortable handle and when it wears down I just toss it and grab another.

    Meuser Lathe Wooden Gear?

I forgot where I saw it but I've seen an article where someone repaired such a gear by cutting out the damaged area, epoxying in a chunk of cloth reinforced phenolic plate, and then cutting new teeth to math the existing. This can even be done with a slitting saw to get close and then hand...

ID A vise screw, and help making an Acme Nut

100% agree for all the reasons you stated. Unless it belongs to a rare museum piece I doubt that rusty oddball screw is worth the effort.

Regreasing/clean linear actuator worm gear and rail

My go-to for softening old grease is Marvel air tool oil. After it soaks in a while I wipe off as much as I can and then apply new grease. It may take multiple applications to remove the old crud. If this is a high load application I would suggest using an EP (extreme pressure) lube such as CMD...

OT: What is this thing? Electric actuator of some sort?

I agree with Billtodd. My guess would be that the coaxial plug connects to a wall wart with Bluetooth activated bidirectional on/off to operate window blinds in a difficult location.

    Way OT - bat bite

I agree 100%. Better safe than sorry and IF you were by chance infected with rabies the modern shots are fewer and far less painful. I would get tested.
