    Finding the right employee.

I think it's odd that you are stating you prefer experience, then offer gaining experience as a perk. That could be confusing.

    Where do gears come from?

As neat as the gears are, please remember to take photos of your spiral milling project when you get to it :)

Dialog console pushbutton switches - are new switches available?

I've seen Dialog pushbuttons that worked fine with the plastic top nearly worn *through* from pushing on it. I think it's pretty good equipment. I have managed to take them apart and clean them... risky business requiring surgical skills and luck.

We will now hold one minute of silence for a fallen Deckel FP3NC....

Thank you for the kind words Gregg. A good portion of the machinery survived... some did not, but the really rare stuff did so I'm blessed. Some really hard things to replace are my personal items...some inherited, and the shop itself. It was a cool shop and pretty much my dream home being...

OT- Any of you actually *prefer* a shower head that sprays water in a ring pattern ?

So far it would appear that nobody "prefers" it this way. I know you said this is not about the water saving aspect, but I've been the guy who ends up returning as many as 4 new shower heads because I thought they *all* sucked. The "ring" is certainly one of the most annoying but it has the...

    Machinist or not a Machinist?

Somewhere...as you read this, there is a thread going on about "Artist or not an artist?". "I use a brush...and real paint" "I use a computer and a mouse"

Drill chuck slipped on JT arbor. Should I try to recondition the socket?

You guys must be doing some kind of precision drilling. I've spun chucks before... just removed and pressed them back on if it was only surface scratches. I never really considered a drill bit, or a 3 jaw drill chuck as a "precision" tool. That's just me.

    Machinist or not a Machinist?

I would speculate that a "machinist" is anyone who knows enough to bother arguing the definition of one.
