I am currently looking into making gears using the power skiving technique. I was wondering if this process is possible using a Haas lathe that has live tooling? I've researched the process, the spindle and tool speed required can be achieved using the Haas lathe with live tooling. I looked into...
First of all, I'm not knocking machinists. I ran Cnc and EDM for many years. All I was trying to say before the B.A jokes was that there are many options for students these days. With computers playing such an important role in technology we want the really smart kids, not the kids that can't do...

I currently teach machine shop at the high school level in Canada. I teach in a very machining oriented economy. The jobs are their if the students want them. The kids love the class, working with their hands but the secret is out guys. I remember when I was in highschool hearing about all the...
Well it's ideal because it would still be about ten or twenty years newer than most of the machines. It's high school so the main point would be to show them what edm is and how it works. If there is new technology that could be had for $700 please point me in that direction.
I double checked the number you mentioned and that's a different machine on ebay. I could email you the page with mine on it. Mine is number 7585521351. Thanks for the help. It's for my shop class so I have a feeling it will be ideal for my purposes.
Just bought this edm machine for my shop class, I ran edm in the past (ONA ,forward), just curious what to expect and any suggestions on a baseline of settings. I know it's old but it will serve it's purpose, any help would be greatly appreciated.
