I need a sky hook. Just a lifting point in the center of my shop.
I'd like to lift 1000 lbs. I dont want a gantry or engine hoist type lift. 95% of the time they're just in your way and wasting real estate.

Trusses are 2' on center.
I would add a 10" LVL beam on each side of two of the trusses. Screw the beams to the W bracing in the trusses.

Look for an old Johnson or Kysor Johnson. 10x18 envelope, 3/4 or 1" blade. Coolant.

The stand I got with it was a nice design and very sturdy but shop made and rather crude. I cut some of it apart and rewelded it, lowered it and and sanitized it so it looks nicer.
