Thanks to those who replied. My concept for aluminum was wrong here, and though a few were willing to do the machining for very low amounts, the material price and round trip shipping of that material brought the total cost up too high. After lots of communication with 3d printer services it looks like I could get someone to 3d print these in quantity (100 units worth) for about $10 set. I've also made a set in 1/4" acetal on my small shop built cnc router and it looks and works great. The machined black acetal looks slick... -

getting a snug fit end tapping aluminum extrusion
Thanks for these replies. I think the 14-20 tap may well work. Never knew they existed! I can also perhaps make the part from 3d printed plastic rather than aluminum (may be better for me, as it's a complex part). The plastic may well make a nylok-nut like threaded hole with the undersized tap... -

I'm looking to redesign a small woodworking power feeder I currently make from predominantly baltic birch plywood, powered by a cordless drill. Well crap - I am ordering a SawStop tomorrow. (Mildly graphic pictures)
The feeder is light duty for the table saw, no doubt. It can be used in conjunction with Jessem hold downs on the same track, which is cool, and with plywood giving a measure of control beyond that of other systems. It's terrific for resawing on a band saw, allowing feed speeds down to about 2...- woodguy2

Just read through this sobering thread. I've been hard contemplating the decision to replace my trusty Powermatic 66 as I know I don't have either the intensity of concentration, or rapid response I did when I was younger.
