A press fit, if excessive, can actually cause the material to yield. This can change dimensions. And it can cause the press fit to become a no-press-fit.
Even if the fit doesn't cause yield, something will move............just how far is anybody's guess.
I mean no disrespect, I'm sure you've already done it............... The greatest enemy to misalignment is failing to chamfer the bore. If the bore isn't chamfered, it can't sit true on the face of the shoulder. The part will hit the radius caused by the insert when turning the shoulder. And, some shoulders are radiused to reduce stress. It's always something to consider.
