    Reamer cutting undersized because of run-out?

    My pin is not bent, and it is possible my drill maybe walked 2 or 3 tenths, but I'm starting to realize, a reamer that sticks out too far, especially if it is dull will have a tendency to follow the hole instead of slightly cutting it's own path.

    I think that it is a lobed hole, I will look into pecking, I've never tried that with a reamer before.

    It is very possible the reamer is dull, it has made many parts in the past, this is a repeat job. the only part I,m slightly confused about is the fact that the tip of my reamer is mic'd .0002 bigger than the gage pin.     Small hole drilling in M2 tool steel, help!!!

    Ok, I apologize for not including details, and I've dialed in on good numbers and so far it's been working great. .026 carbide drill, 20 sfm with a .0001/tooth chip load, which solved the problem! I applied the same principle to the reamer as well. Thanks for your quick reply.
