WTB - D1-3 Backplate for Adjustable 6-Jaw Chuck

You're very welcome Joe, and glad to help. What I was thinking is that the Buck Ajust-tru backplate is quite thick, so that it enters the chuck body deep enough for the chuck's 4 Adjust-tru screws to bear against. This design makes for a very tight coupling with much reduced overhang...

WTB - D1-3 Backplate for Adjustable 6-Jaw Chuck

Joe, I think you'll find that the "adjust-tru" feature is a part of the Buck's D1-3 backplate ... at least, it is on mine. So, a standard D1-3 backplate won't do what you want.

WTB steady rest and or follower rest for SM 1340

VetteracerX, Here's a link to the steady I modded for my SM: Buy Steady Centre Rest For Cx708 at Busy Bee Tools It was pretty straightforward work, and all that's needed is a bridge plate for the top of the bed to pick up the new steady. You could probably do it in less time than you'll spend...

WTB steady rest and or follower rest for SM 1340

I looked for a steady rest for my 1120 for years. In the end I adapted one from a 10" Taiwanese lathe ... it was "simply" a matter of making a new saddle/bridge piece to adapt it to the SM vee bed. .. Gregg

WTB: Brass Jaws for Jacobs no 100 chuck (U100)

As awander says, the lack of friction is the whole point of the Jacobs No. 100 chuck, which is used to support the commutator end of an armature during machining. There's misinformation about this chuck on YouTube, with a post where the presenter raves about how lucky he was to get a No. 100...

WTB: Brass Jaws for Jacobs no 100 chuck (U100)

The no100 is like a Jacobs drill chuck that's fitted with brass jaws. The jaws on my no. 100are pretty much shot, so I'd like to buy a replacement set. I believe the kit is known as a Jacobs U100. Thanks! ... Gregg

    WTB special metric tap

That 6.3 mm dimension is within 0.05mm of 1/4", and the 1mm pitch is 25.4 tpi. So, it may be worth trying one of the following British threads: - 1/4BSF is 26 tpi with 55 degree thread angle, - 1/4CEI is 26 tpi with a 60 degree thread angle. Both of the above threads have radiused crests...
