Engine main bearing housing repair
No oil hole on the second and fourth housings. Oil fed through the crankshaft. Alfa Romeo design. The photo does not show it but the insert sits correctly on the housing. Camera optics/distortion. -

Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated. My guess is that the main bearing housing was damaged. Repair was carried out by shaving off the damage and putting in an aluminum insert. The two screws hold the insert in place. I worry whether the screws are strong enough to withstand the engine... -
