That's where I would look first. Cast iron rust is more of a powder. I'm assuming yours is more flakey or granular like steel..........Bob -

Actually I don't imagine anyone using my boxes in a general shop setting. I make them for my own pleasure both in the making and my and others pride of ownership. I do usually give them away. Of the 6 or so I've given away all are kept in private spaces. One to keep fly tieing supplies. One...- bhigdog

Beautiful stock. Checkering looks superb. I'm using Min Wax wiping poly now. 4 to 5 coats with a lite 0000 steel wool pass between coats............Bob- bhigdog

No I sure don't. Basicly it's just a box with runners for drawers. The biggest thing is everything MUST be kept square. Lose that and it will never be right. That said, There is an awful lot of fussy details that must be paid attention to. There are about 140 wood pieces and about 42 metal...- bhigdog

I know I said I wasn't going to make any more tool boxes but I found a few curly maple boards in my pile I didn't even know I had. The figure was so stark I had to do something with them. At age 83 if I left them in the pile I'm guessing they would end up as firewood. Predominate wood is curly...- bhigdog

Is safe to buy a used air compressor?
I occasionally buy, repair and flip compressors. Mostly with tired pumps. In my experience the pumps don't wear out usually the valves go bad. usually a bit of lathe or surface grinder work or maybe a spring replacement or two brings them right back at no cost. I always hydro test to 50% over... -

OT. Battery charger schematic.
Thanks for that. It explains a lot. I actually got both working but it was mostly by finding broken wires, a bad switch and an intermittent relay in the 322. I'd like to find a schematic for one or both I so understand what I was actually doing. Thanks again for taking the time..........Bob -

I want to revive these Marquette battery chargers. Both look to be from the 50's or 60's. A schematic would be helpful. Any one have a lead on paper work. The R2D2 looking round guy is a model 215 and the square guy a 322.........Bob -
