    Looking for 7/8" - 4 acme threaded rod

    While I'm no expert, I wouldn't say its for any reason other than the square thread would take the horrizontal linear load the vise puts on it from tightening alot better. A more meat is better approach id assume.

    Can anyone give me a date of manufacturing that this vise would have been made? Even if its a certain decade. I know that this company used to be what is now Rigid.     Sadly I do not. I'm assuming this thing fell upside down from a high ledge or something. The top side has alot of broken things including that saddle hold down bracket.

    The bed is actually the only thing without rust. Everything else is just surface rust.
