Question About Moving a CNC Lathe

Great comment. I never said I was smarter than anyone. I never said anything about people who do it themselves are wrong. Again, you said that and you are making this about YOU and whatever problem YOU have. Good luck to ya!

Question About Moving a CNC Lathe

Sorry you feel that way. All I said was that I was glad I did not move my machines without professional riggers. The analogy I used is to say; to get the entire high-performance thing built only to have someone who has a great chance of destroying it handle it in the end procedure. Real riggers...

Question About Moving a CNC Lathe

Maybe you should not be basing your business on $500 machines and you would not have these issues. Step out of being an average Joe, Joe! 😆

Question About Moving a CNC Lathe

Sorry you don't know a professional when you see one. I have more than a clue. Always had 100% professional riggers hired without issue these last 30 years. Never had one machine fall or get damaged. Been in some tough buildings too. Not easy moves. Glad you are so awesome Garwood!😆

Question About Moving a CNC Lathe

Reading all these stories makes me glad I bite the bullet and pay my experienced riggers their money. Moving your own #10K+ iron is like a NASCAR team hiring the town drunk to be their driver! 😆

    Hardinge Collet Closer

Also, You may get lucky and find the 10-32 screws have just loosened up some and only require tightening. Got lucky with one years ago and that was the case. I would say around 20 to 25K hours on the clock the closers should be taken apart and those 10-32 screws checked regardless of operation...

    Hardinge Collet Closer

Just rebuilt mine. More than likely the 10-32 screws have backed off inside the aluminum body. Causing travel issues, hard to back off and loss of sealing at the brass check valves. Maybe even stoppage of all function. One 10-32 snapped off on mine. I was able to make a Bridgeport setup and...

Fanuc "Not 0" Control on VMC's?

Ox, The 21T and 21i controls on my multiple Cobras are good controls. The 21i has the memory card reader. But it's old 1999/2000 tech. 512MB compact flash card. Correct me if I am wrong on this feature, but it's not a modern memory card or USB. I never used em! Also have a 21i on my Mori MV40E...

Anyone ever deal with Parts Plus?

I geddit. But I was wondering if anyone had actually done business with him? I find it strange that someone calls around and tries to scam a machine shop into doing business with them. I guess it's just another crazy aspect of this business that other professionals don't have to deal with. The...
