Advice on cutting and tumbling small shaft key

We don't use them that much. Also I replaced the blade from Harbor Freight with different one and it seems it cuts better. I will try to clamp the cut off piece and see if that will help. If it does then I will do some thinking on how to add toggle clamp to the saw.

Advice on cutting and tumbling small shaft key

I don't think my boss will like to change it to get it cut on lathe since all our machines are VERY busy making parts that we need. He rather place someone on that band saw for two days and then another day on belt sander to finish 200 pieces. Our chop saw is 6". It's the cheap version from...

Advice on cutting and tumbling small shaft key

That's what we cut it from. 01 precision ground tool steel. I did not expect solid carbide blade to cut thru it. I will take a look if I can find any that will fit our chop saw

Advice on cutting and tumbling small shaft key

As of now we are cutting 1/8" x 1/8" x 1/2" long shaft keys from tool steel stock on our small band saw. Then we sand all edges on belt sander by hand and it takes crazy amount of time to do it. I have purchased a benchtop metal cut off saw and vibratory tumbler. For media I bought ceramic angle...

Setup to drill and tap 5/8 hole

That's what I want to do. I just want to make sure whatever I buy it will be able to do the job. I'm going to make a special holder for the wheel so it won't spin while I'm drilling/taping. I will look into 1hp drill presses and see where can I get one.

Setup to drill and tap 5/8 hole

I know how to do it just would like someone's opinion on what works best. I can't put a lathe in my garage since I don't have a room. Lathe will be the best option for this. I just don't have experience with hand tools. When I tried to tap by hand on lathe it wasn't easy. Had to use a extension...

Setup to drill and tap 5/8 hole

Let me say I used to do it in a manual lathe. It was pretty hard to tap with hand device and I used little bit oversized drill so to remove less material. There was no chips produced just powder. Do you guys think this device might work for tapping?

Setup to drill and tap 5/8 hole
