Operator's Manual for SHAN DONG ZX-28 Geared Head Milling Machine

Hey Guys and Gals... I am searching (STILL) for an operators/owner's manual for a SHAN DONG ZX-28 Geared Head Milling Machine. Does ANYONE have a line on one, know where one could be copied, etc.? I am happy to pay for this if necessary. I've poked around the Wed w/o success, so I thought I...

Bridgeport Model "M" capabilities vs. other small mills (Rockwell, Clausing, Etc.)

Hi... I presently have a Clausing 8520 and I am happy with it overall, but there are times when a larger table/throat would be helpful to say the least. With that said, I am looking at a model "M" Bridgeport (the "Baby Bridgeport" I am told) a few hours from me. I know nothing about these...

    Albrecht Drill Chuck TIR issues

That .008" TIR is on a chucked drill rod. I did check the MT2 arbor where it exits the MT3 adaptor and it is running under .001TIR, and then the neck of the chuck itself is running about .001"TIR. There is visible damage to the jaws grabbing centerline edge, so I'm going to try to grind them...

    Albrecht Drill Chuck TIR issues

Hi... I purchased a new to me (Used) Albrecht Drill Chuck and set it up to check accuracy. In my Clausing mill, it is registering .008" TIR--WOW! That's horrible I think! I then indicated on the narrower neck part of the chuck body and it was pretty good: .001" or less. So, I suspect the...

    U. S. Burke Model "V" vertical mill

Hi folks... I am "looking" at a U. S. Burke Model "V" vertical mill. She's in rough visible condition and will need massive cleaning, etc. It's not powered either, so I won't be able to do anything more that turn things by hand. My real questions run along this line; does anyone have...

    10MM to 3/8-16???

Hi Guys... I've been trying to find a fly cutter in MT2 AND with 3/8-16 draw bar threading... all I can find is the China stuff with M10 threads. What are your thoughts on my buying one and then drilling out the M10 and re-threading to the 3/8-16 I need. It's going to go into my Clausing 8520...

    What is THIS???

Hi Guys... does anyone recognize this chuck? It came with a 10 Logan lathe I recently purchased. I "think" it's some sort of collet chuck, but it must be missing pieces? Anyone able to help me. It has "Speedichuk" and "Precision" stamped on it. Thanks in advance![ATTACH=CONFIG]300142

Hey... Hi guys... I feel stupid breaking into this discussion, but I am struggling trying to find out HOW to make a NEW posting for some help I'm looking for with a quick change gear box on my 10" Logan. Flather Lathes

Hi all... Thanks to you guys with the info! I can't find a model number anywhere on this little machine and I have dismantled, cleaned, repainted, and reassembled her completely a few years ago. I only know it's a Flather because it says so on the Threading Chart which is riveted on the change...

    Flather Lathes

Hi... anyone out there ever heard of The FLATHER LATHE COMPANY of Nashua, NH? I have one... a 9 inch unit that is a pretty nice lathe (to a beginner) and is pretty complete. I've never heard of this brand, nor has any of the machinists I've spoken with so I thought I would just inquire here...

    Clausing 8520 Mill... Head disassembly

Hi... I'm new to this forum. I'm trying to find out why I can't seem to disassemble the head on this old Clausing Mill. It appears that the top step pulley needs to be removed to allow the depth gauge rod to be removed and then the two mounting tabs for that depth gauge to be removed which...
