    Improper input power alaram

I don't want to open new thread. Yesterday we had same alarm and on amplifier we had 04 alarm. We tried couple of times, turn off machine, start doing parts and it happens when live tools power up (new chinese swiss similar to star SR20, use same live tools). Our electricians said voltage to...

Drilling wider holes using live flat drill (swiss lathe)

That is plan but until it arrives we want to try with what we got with machine.

Drilling wider holes using live flat drill (swiss lathe)

Dont work because it is live tool only. Can't lock live tools on this chinese copy of star sr20. Strange but that is it. So offset x will just move location of hole, hole size stay same. And there isn't option to use boring bar or reamer to get size right after drilling because all axial tool...

Drilling wider holes using live flat drill (swiss lathe)

I checked it is flat endmill. Reamer can't be used there isn't spare tool position. @Ox Not expirenced with double live machining which is why i ask. It aluminium hole is dia4.8mm in plus depth is less then 7mm, endmill is dia4.8 of course in minus. So do with half rpm on endmill and main...

Drilling wider holes using live flat drill (swiss lathe)

We have quite good flat drills but they are below lowest tolerance for hole we need to drill. Lathe from what I see in manual can't lock live tool as our older swiss, I don't see command it is fanuc OiTF plus control. There is M125 but it only turn off live tool. We got idea to spin spindle and...

Fanuc OT-F plus and dual spindle lathe main back program editing

I need little help from more expirenced FANUC dual spindle/swiss folks. We got two chicom swiss with mentioned control. Both are setuped to do one job (tooling and program), but we dont get training. I wanted to scroll to check main program and back program (on screen there are both in two...

Old Star swiss wont close collets (main and rear spindle)?

@TeachMePlease It is operated by hydraulic on our star and probable on other stars. Our maintenance guy did manually succeed to activate solenoid for main spindle collet but it operate very hard which is why command can't open or close collet. We did get green light which is good thing. Sub...

Old Star swiss wont close collets (main and rear spindle)?

Yeap. Tried that for weekend but I think nothing happened I will tried that today with someone looking collet to see what's happening. Btw it is block of six solenoid values and only first one have easy access to button rest have button toward machine.

Fanuc ip 65 vs ip 67 motor for driving live tooling?

Protection for rest of machine. I know motor is gone. It is swiss lathe with side mounted gang live tooling. Motor is outside with metal sheet cover so it can't be submerged in cutting oil. So there is oil film. I think reason why manufacturer used ip67 is option for high pressure cooling just...

Fanuc ip 65 vs ip 67 motor for driving live tooling?

We need replacement motor (which in our machine is ip67) but were only able to get ip65 one. Everything else is same. Engine is protected from direct cutting oil spraying with steel enclosure and we don't have high pressure cutting oil pump. Also I expect there is some electric protection if...

Second operation cnc or plc lathe

Nice solution but wouldn't work for us we use all cam lathes we have and most of second op are side drilling or slitting which would be pretty hard to do on our tornos cams, I know there are some other cams which can do side drilling or slitting very easy compared to our tornos.

Second operation cnc or plc lathe

No. I probably made confusion. We would parts which cam lathe turned, automatically machined in CNC second op lathe. Right now we do lot of second ops manually on manual second op lathe, drill press or manual slitting saw. Those small machines which they saw in Chinese cnc factory were Chinese...

Old Star swiss wont close collets (main and rear spindle)?

There is pressure and also by touch hydro lines for both turrets there is syrong hydraulic flow. Collets aren't stuck they just don't react on command for collet close by control switch or by M10 in mdi. Same for turret tool change.

Second operation cnc or plc lathe

Our folks visited some factory in China last month and saw Chinese are using something like mentioned above. But they didn't take photos. It is smallish lathe with small arm to put parts from magazine in collet and then finished parts in bin. One of guys think he even saw some live tooling on...

Old Star swiss wont close collets (main and rear spindle)?

So our KNC-20 (Fanuc 0-TT)was broken for long (AC spindle servo board) so we fix that but we have problem with closing collets on spindles. Switch command dont work neither do program command (M10)? Program will just wait when call M10 (I assume waiting signal from sensor). No alarm message. We...

D-bit grinder two step flat drills?

Deckel S11 is fantastic but it is way out in price and size compared to prosumer desk grinder my primary goal is desktop grinder for second hand small pantograph and probable diy cnc smallish mill and if I am able to do gun drills for my folks that would be very nice bonus. Thanks for info...

D-bit grinder two step flat drills?

I dont need it for flute drills. On old tornos lathes we use step drills which don't have flutes, it is similar to gun drill but somewhat different, here is good example: Something like this look like ideal job for D-bit grinder, what I am interested is how dimensional accurate D-bit...

    Pantograph as precise ginder?

I have idea to use pantograph as grinder for HSS small turning profile tools. Idea came when I looked old foreman which make quite good small profile turing tools using bench drill and small grinding bit. He will grind then check on profile projector then grind little more etc. But of course he...
