How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

I sent you an email with the program. The math is much more complicated than that, the program should spit out the correct degree of turn/ft.

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

    1. YES you can only run it once. 2. You only adjust the attachment roll before you start bending. Every 12" you check that the tube has rotated the correct amount of degrees. 3. The pipe/tube rotates by itself. I cannot post the program in here because it is a .rar file, let me know how you...

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

I do have have power at the input of both contactors, when I press the tab manually the motor starts in forward and reverse. Coil on contactor says 110V, main transformer puts out 120V.

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

No employees, just my homeshop. The door switch works fine but since I removed a front frame cover, the latch side lost some rigidity and won't fully close the door.

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

I have made some progress: Machine connected to power, I flip the disconnect switch in the back and I can hear the brake solenoid being energized. I pull the emergency stop button on the front panel and the CR1(control relay) gets energized. Apron lever in position 2&4(OFF) turns off the...

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

You were right, it was the dang switch! The door was closed but not enough for the switch to close, I had to adjust it.

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

That's exactly the lathe I have. DoALL doesn't deal with lathes anymore, nor do they have any parts or manuals for them. I have all the schematics just not that good at reading a wiring diagram.

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

I will check if I still have it, if not you would have to contact the Glaser company in Germany. I'll get back to you tomorrow night.

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

The electrical panel doesn't have one of those, only the door/panel for accessing the V belts and the change gears has one (LS1 on the diagram). The door was always closed when I tried to run the machine.

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

I know ROMI supplied both DoALL and Bridgeport with almost identical lathes, this one is pretty much the spitting image of a Bridgeport 16-8 lathe, most parts even have the same part#. Now, if only I could get it to turn on 🙂...

DoALL Lathe won't start/wiring diagram troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 17" DoALL lathe that has been sitting for years from the looks of it. The company that sold it never got to run it(so they said), it had an Out of Service tag reads 'NO FUSES', so obviously I didn't get to test it before purchasing. The machine is wired...

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

I browsed the entire chapters about stair bulding and handrail and i have to say that it has no value for a metal fabricator. The book is about wood working and does not treat the subject of a metal helical staircase or handrail at all, not to mention the use of a roll bender, probably because...

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

hobbyman, you are right, you can calculate the actual length and figure out the angle of the stair. But that angle of about 30-32 degrees of the stair is NOT the angle that you have to set the 4th roll at . That`s exactly what i was thinking in the beginning and it just made sense at the time...

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

APD, this is the very first time i even tried to bend a helix, that`s why i did a few tests until i figured out what went wrong. Now that i know how it works, for the next job i won`t be doing any trial and error. I mean that i won`t be running full length tubes thru the bender hoping that one...

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

Since the CP40 comes with a DRO, the first thing i had to figure out was to predict the position of the center roll for a desired radius. I bought a program called BendTech PB thinking it would help me figure out the position of the roll. the program can predict the position of the center roll...

How to bend a spiral (helical) stair handrail

Are you saying that you can run the tubing through the bender over and over until you get the desired pitch? If so that is not possible, bending the tube in the second plane is a one shot, you cannot run it a second time.
