Another CAD/CAM-CUSTOMER TRAINING - rate question

Thank you all for your time. I'm hoping after all my advising him to go another way, he has found someone familiar w fusion.

Please help me run larger programs on my 500kb OI-MF panel (drip feed, or compact flash?)

+1 on Fanuc Data Server upgrade, but I'd try Locknut's suggestion 1st. Those upgrades are pricey.

Another CAD/CAM-CUSTOMER TRAINING - rate question

Thanks for all your thoughts, I'm going to push him harder towards training with people using his software every day, hopefully he will see the light.

Another CAD/CAM-CUSTOMER TRAINING - rate question

I have a customer asking me to help him learn his new CAD/CAM - fusion. Also wants a bit of reverse engineering & time on our CMM. I'm solidworks & have 2 other CAMs(not fusion) but can figure it out and can show him how to do the same. He is purchasing his high tolerance mill/turn parts from...

Shop Rates for CAD, CAM, and Machining Time ... the same or different?

I believe CAD/CAM should cost more bc you can't make parts or manage while your helping someone else. But I'm trying to answer the same question- don't want to hijack your post so I'll start another, related...

    Mazak QT35N T32-2

Check that the chuck sensors is set properly. Most likely its not seeing that the chuck completed the opening/closing cycle. Easiest solution- You can disable it by changing a parameter - don't know which on your machine. Its enabled to prevent mischucking. Or you should be able to see...

    Moon landing or or not?

I wonder why they designed it to be so tall and narrow- that's kind of asking for trouble. Wide & low would seem to be an inherently better design to land something on a rocky surface. Maybe payload rules from SpaceX?

    rifle heating

IMHO-Generally no, depends on barrel material and temp your going to heat to. Most materials are annealed at 800-1200F. Tempering can be as low as 300-400F. Hot blue is under 350, you won't see a difference in hardness or toughness.

SolidCam - 6 Months, no solution, no refund!!! Don't waste your money!!!

The post is complicated by lots of machine options, my preferences, and a number of machine parameter modifications. I'm sure it is part of SC's library and I wouldn't claim any exclusive intellectual rights to it. I hope it helps other people have an easier transition.

SolidCam - 6 Months, no solution, no refund!!! Don't waste your money!!!

We have a 2 spindle 2 turret i250HSTN Integrex- that's 9 or more simultaneous controlled axis'. SolidCAM runs them all. The 2 people the OP referenced WROTE our post from scratch. It did take MANY hours of work, testing, back and forth email response, detailed error descriptions, READING THE...

    Servo battery warning

With power off, open the electrical cabinet, pull the wires off the switch on the cabinet door and tuck them away.

    Servo battery warning

Most servo drives have a battery-not all of them. With power ON, flip up the black translucent plastic flap on the front of the drive. It should have a battery that looks like AA with 2 wires and a clip that plugs it into the drive. You can get them from Mitsu or amazon. They should be...

Purchasing a new CMM and software decisions...

That maybe the new state of affairs now, very happy to say we have not needed service but I've heard "everyone is very backed up" i.e. short of competent techs. We're running our machine everyday now, I can't imagine not having it.

Purchasing a new CMM and software decisions...

We almost went for the OGP machine. Also considered the vision addon to the Mitsu CMM but it is not cheap- 40k. That's 1/2 the price of most new vision machines so maybe not a good bang for the buck. We were also concerned about OGP & Mitsu adding the weight of the vision to the PH10. We...

Purchasing a new CMM and software decisions...

+1 Mcosmos - I actually like it now, not difficult to learn for anyone familiar with CNC CAM. You should really run the software yourself on one or 2 of your parts. Every CMM company either directly or through their distributors were open to letting us spend most of a day on their machines.

We have a month old Crysta Apex V 7106 and its working very well for us. Mitutoyo apps engineers are awesome, they are extremely knowledgeable about metrology and their product- super supportive and they give u their direct contact info. Calling the 800 support is hit or miss. We spent some...

    New to me 10ee

OK, so we found that the A! wire is connected to the A2 Terminal & the A2 wire is connected to the A1/E1 terminal. We are only getting 1550rpm on the drive pulley. A1-A2 voltage is 286VDC F2-E2 voltage begins @ 41VDC and drops during measurement to 37VDC - not sure when it would stop dropping-...

    New to me 10ee

Cal, Sorry for the delay. So we do have 114.1 VDC on the E1 & E2 and the lathe is running. Our max speed seems to be low, we are getting 2400rpm max and the tachometer is reading lower then that - its off by about 10% showing 2200. Also the tach only works in one direction, it seems to try...
