    Deckel D812

    Hardinge C10 holder Question

FredC wrote “On your C10 copies, the radius reliefs maybe for limited contact to enhance squareness when tightening the tools? Or the guy building them may have been quirky” Two good thoughts.

    Hardinge C10 holder Question

I always thought the unmarked holders I have were aftermarket and the only purpose I could ever think of was ease of broaching - if that was the way that rectangle was cut? I have other unmarked with straight sides. The Quality and hardness are same as Hardinge.

I misread your second sentence when I responded: “Yes you are correct” Should have replied: Not true from my experience, it clamps very tight. I’ve never had it slip and I usually take heavy cuts on 4140 and 4340

OT, I need to scan a large number of 35mm slides, can anyone share equipment/experience comments?

This is what my friend uses: It is a Beseler slide duplicator with a digital camera mounted to it. It can shoot 35mm up to 6 x 7 cm film negatives and transparencies. If you don’t want to get this fancy all you need is a copy stand, 100 macro lens and a light box that is 5500 or 5000 kelvin...
