What Supplier Nonsense are You Dealing With Today?

Needed to pickup another 25+ Bambu X1C printers on Friday to run parts throughout the weekend. Every place our buyer called was OOS. I remembered seeing some at a local store recently and checked their website, 31 in stock and open for another two hours. We hopped in the car and raced over there...

    Subprogram end of program error

Make sure you have a blank line below the M99 line to force an EOB on the M99 line, if it is the last line in your program file.

    Strange axis feeding issue

Any chance your sub collet isn’t tight enough and the part is slipping?

    In Process Probing Renishaw

If the diameter you are probing to set your WCS is the same one you need to verify, you can use variable #188 which is the measured size of your probed feature. Then run a couple IF statements that verify the size is within tolerance. If not jump to an alarm.

    fusion 360 or something better?

There aren’t any, people just like to complain about things they don’t understand. The software itself is more than adequate for most parts that run through most shops. ITAR Compliance is its main drawback and the reason it’s not in more shops.

Adaptive Help-Thin stock recutting chipping flutes and breaking end mills

For parts like this with no inside corners, 2D Contour works really well, and the code is very clean and short. Geometry Tab, select the single wall for your Contour Selection, Select Stock Contours and select the profile of the face you’re roughing off. Passes Tab, Tangential Fragment...

    OP1 vs OP10

With you on the N# matching the T#. Setup my post like this years ago and its ideal, even if tools get repeated throughout a program. Padded code though, hard no from me. Remove all unnecessary padding, leading/trailing zeros, etc. I've spent way too much time on old Fanuc controls though where...

    OP1 vs OP10

It is not just about leaving room for RWK, but there needs to be a sequence for Setup, FAI and Run on a router for nearly everything on the shop floor, including Saw. So a single sequence might be OP100 for Setup, OP110 for FAI and OP120 for Run, as these three things may be done by three...

    Question about post processor

Once you edit your post processor and save it, as long as you call up that same processor next time you post, it will run through it with the changes you already made. You shouldn't need to edit your processor every time you post, regardless of what software you are using. Speaking of that...

    Brother Speedio in process probing

Your tool setter STILL isn't working? Calibrate the probe off of the table itself. No need for the tool setter. Are you in the Brother FB Group?

    Reducing Setup Times/Increasing Efficiency

I’d personally throw CarvesSmart Master Jaws in your Kurt’s and call that a day. If you’re doing low volume, high mix work they are perfect for that. Spend some time learning how to drive the 3D toolpaths within Fusion. There hasn’t been a surface I haven’t been able to handle cleanly and...

True position GD&T puzzle of the day

It doesn’t need to be clocked to anything they just need to be tied to each other. Their position around the spun profile may not matter at all.

How do you change the overshoot distance on Brother probing macros?

The X and Y values on an inside or outside width tell it which side to start on. An X+ will start on one side, an X- will start on the opposite side. The value is of no importance for these specific cycles.

How do you change the overshoot distance on Brother probing macros?

Add an R value (Rnn.nnn) in your G65 line. The default safety distance is 10mm.
