I have recently acquired some antique hand forged lathe parts. The big gear appears to be sand cast. I am looking for any information or opinions anyone wishes to provide and especially any possible references to date them or titles of books on lathes of this vintage.
This is the lathe discussed in a prior post - "another odd old lathe to ID". I bought it and had it picked up - and no - I did not pay the asking price. I will have it in my possession in about a month or so. Until then, I want to start researching it and learning what I can in the process. When...
Picked up this little Pratt and Whitney bench top machine as shown in the photos. It was part of the stuff in the Ada Ohio sale discussed here a while back and a few of you may have seen it if you visited.
I believe it is a grinder. No model number on it. No idea what collet or tool taper the...
I bought and paid for the two wade lathes and all the Wade parts etc that are there and I intend to do a restoration of at least one of them, but unfortunately I am 1,100 miles away right now and I will not be able to return to Ohio and go get them for a month or so. I am quite concerned that...
For some time I have read of people's displeasure with those who "steal" the legs off old machines and discard the machine. In some senses I too really hate to see that happen.
However, I have a lathe - (a Stark plain turning open headstock flat belt driven cone bearing collet lathe with...
I have a Stark #3 lathe with plain cone bearings in the head stock that the hardened spindle runs in and that are lubricated by drip oilers. The bearing at the spindle nose has two taper angles; a shallow angle for radial loads and a steep angle for axial loads. This lathe design is very similar...
Looking in thru the brush holder with the brushes removed I can see that the commutator needs some attention. I have removed the 4 nuts on the main body bolts and the 4 screws thru the nose casting that pull in the front bearing retainer and then removed the front nose casting from the motor...
Tag on board says:
Anilam servo cntrl W/O RF
PN: 33000117
sn: 01012169 Rev C
Printed on the board is 90100318 REV C
It will come with the 3 plug in relays and the K2 solid state relay and the green plug in lead wire terminal strip.
It is as removed from a working CNC that was dropped by...
Photo of the Baldor servomotor and connector is attached. I need the wiring pin out diagram for this connector. I also need the mating cable plug connector body.
This is a used set of Baldor DC servo motors from a knee mill that had a Dynapath System 20. The motors are Baldor Catalogue number...
I have always been told to never disassemble a step motor as it ruins them - reduces their output torque significantly by demagnetizing them.
So, is there a problem if you disassemble a permanent magnet DC servo motor? I am thinking that this is not a problem with DC motors in general because...
I have a set of Baldor DC servo motors from a knee mill that had a Dynapath System 20. The motors are Baldor Catalogue number 4203623. I want to test them for use on my CNC mill project.
These motors have a large Cannon connector with a total of 16 pins. There are 12 pins in an outer circle...

This head is equipped for thru tool pressure coolant feed and has an HSK B 80 shank. It is rated for a max cap of M14 at 1000 rpm. It appears to be in good operating condition, turns freely and clutch reverses properly, but as I do not have a machine with a matching...
I have acquired two machines that I now need to tool up - a vertical mill and a horizontal mill - both of which have NMTB 30 spindles. I have an opportunity to buy a large quantity of quality BT30 tool holders at a reasonable price. Other than the need for a new Draw bar with different length...
I am building up a CNC mill for myself.
I need a total of 3 connector plugs for the Baldor DC servo motors I am using.
They are made by Cannon
They have 14 total pins in two concentric circles.
The center circle has 4 pins in total - two big pins across from each other for motor current and 2...
I have a Wade 8A lathe that needs a few parts.
a better condition top slide rotary base - the cast part that sits on the cross slide and rotates and that has the ways for the compound top slide.
the plate that goes across the end of the compound top slide casting and thru which the leads screw...
I have a Siemens Simoreg DC servo system model D165 G200/12 MREQ Nr.:A MLFB 6RB 2012-38A00 Ausgang 12/24A 200V as removed from a Lagun CNC 3 axes mill. This servo amp was driving Siemens brush type servo motors model 1HGU3056. Per the dealer I bought the mill from this mill was in service and...
This head is equipped for thru tool pressure coolant feed and appears to have an "A" taper of some type - those are new to me. The model number has been milled off so it may be a special of some kind. It appears to be in good operating condition, turns freely and clutch reverses properly, but as...
K.O.Lee tool and cutter grinder with a 3 X 21 inch universal swivel table with center T slot and with the optional tilting rear manual tool grinding table. It comes with a cutter tooth rest, but no other tooling or grinding wheels. The two grinding wheels shown installed are from my other...
