Yes, contamination of diesel fuel does happen, but the fuel itself does not go bad. Contamination is usually caused by the ingress of water. Without water nothing grows in it.- steve-l

I think the whole idea of a makerspace is fraught with hazards and extreme danger. I'm 80 years old this year and in my time I have seen and experienced incredibly stupid people trying to use machinery. Machinery does not take prisoners. That advice is wrong. Diesel fuel is the same as heating oil, but with anti-waxing and metallic lubrication additives and it is road tax free. Diesel fuel and heating fuel will last indefinitely.
