    What’s going on at Boeing

QT: (The workers on the shop floor blame management, management blames the rank and file, but no doubt most everyone at Boeing is part of the mess.) and I think legal weed id a factor. People not putting in the bolts, not making them tight is a difficult problem to design away.

    Ongoing unrest in Russia

We really need to give everybody all of our money, so when we are flat busted we can ask for help. If we would invite all the terrorists to the USA then the rest or the world might be safer.

You might angle dress a wheel 45* or 60* with the straight wheel side toward you drill center about .005 short of center. come to the part (drill) at a height the would make the split gash about 1/6 to 1/8 wide depending on the drill size. Dressing the angle as its radius become too big. the...

    Ongoing unrest in Russia

QT: (Iran is run by a bunch of nutjob fanatics .......the one thing stopping them from an all out attack is the probability of being roasted to a crispy crisp). And they like free momey as a bribe to be a little bit nice.

I have not split drills on a Monoset, and I don’t have one here to experiment. The split grind does not go way toward the the OD as you have tried. look at I and J. -> the split thinning is not very wide. QT : The conventional split point (CSP) is highly productive but is limited since it...

Easily grind on a CNC using electroplated wheels

Another thing with electro plated wheels. If you mount them indicated-in or dressed-in it is good to keep them on the original mount, and mark a line-up mark so they can go back on the spindle at the same 180/360(same place on a circle.) At mounting good to indicate to <.001 if you can..*(that...

Request for Help with Custom Lathe Headstock

QT (Thanks again to everyone for your help and input; I gather the best route to go down is a brand new 40mm shaft from hardened steel, and another pillow block bearing) No, the best rout is to tell what needs to be done and designe a something that can do the task. Gussing from here you may...

600mm 24 inch even in wood is a big dangerous part, likely you should have a machie of 1000 pounds or more for lathe turning a part that big.. For your own in house cutters most often altering a standard citter is best. Sharpening an end often you can facet grind the secondary and then butter fly (just go in and out) as you roll the heal up into the wheel..Yes watch out for the under tooth/edge.

likely somone told you the 1/2 distance to the one bearing. and then the full distance out what error you have at the motor will be double at the far end. If you put on two bearings then the shaft will/may run true and you may have a big vibration where there is error at joining the motor. QT...
