I have heard reading info from Hi-Fly that the Brother C00 control has finer programmable increments in metric than it does in inches. If so would it be better to calibrate in metric than imperial?
I have the O0700 probing macros that came with my Brother for a Renishaw spindle probe. I know they are set in the initial program but they seem to have a minimum overshoot of .5" and I need to reduce that for a part I am making. I just don't have the room for so much overshoot probing the...
I will be needing alloy socket head cap screws, dowel pins, and spring plungers in larger quantities than I want to buy from McMaster but have no idea where to go. I have done the internet searches and have a few selected but figured it was worth asking here who you all like to purchase from. I...
I have been asked a few times to post about what I have done to increase the air quality in my shop so here goes. I don't wish to imply that my solutions are best for everyone but it is something I have been working on ever since I started my shop. What I have now is a Fantech Hero 200 heat...
My 5hp compressor isn't running right and I thought it was the run capacitor as it starts fine but then slows down after about 5 seconds. This is out of my wheelhouse so I need some help with some probably dumb questions.
Full story: The compressor is a cheap Home Depot 4hp 2-stage with a...
This is a response to a post in another thread but I figured it should have its own vs hijacking the other. This is about the Fusion 360 Brother Speedio post changes to make the Z-axis move before rotation a property you can set in the post General dialog box. I/we are wanting to add this...
I have been waiting for Maritool to get the 5/8" stubby sidelocks in stock and the last time I looked they also had the 3/4" type as well. So I got one of each in dual contact and was a bit surprised at some features on the 3/4" version, so here is a heads up for those who may be interested in...
I have spent over an hour looking and it is not on the internet so let's put it there.
By the way is the control C zero zero or letters OO? I want to make sure I get it right for later searches.
I have been using 4 flute drill/mills but now that I am moving this job from my Kitamura to my new Brother I need one that is free-er cutting. This has been on my list for years but I have not found what I need and want to make sure it doesn't exist before getting a custom tool made. I use this...
I am changing an old program to run on my new Brother and can't figure out how to shift the coordinates on it. The code I use on my Yasnac is G52Q2Y amount, or G10 would work. I need to shift the Y axis 8 times calling a sub after each shift in the extended workpiece coordinates. How do you do a...
I recently got an R650 and now I am looking for a/some good Fusion 360 posts for it. I have downloaded the correct one off of AutoDesk's site but it has some issues. What I have found so far is it doesn't use reducing pecks for peck drilling, it only posts Q, no W or V, and after changing the...
This has been a loooong time coming but I finally got enough work to force it. I work from home with enough of a dirt driveway that I couldn't get it in here about 5 months of the year because it's too soft, and still had trouble with the forklift sinking in front of my shop. This is also a bit...
If using a 10hp Phase Perfect to power a CNC mill that wants a 30 amp service do I need the 30 amp 3 phase breaker after the phase converter or can I just use the single phase breaker feeding the phase converter, if sized correctly? This is the only machine wired to the phase converter.
Does anyone use GFCI breakers for their CNC machines?
I am getting a new mill, Brother, and the installation instructions spec a 30 amp earth leakage breaker. Needless to say they do cost a lot more so I am wondering what others have done. So far I have just wired my cnc mills to my PP without...
I am looking for a way to controllably heat a minimum 1"x2"x7" aluminum bar to 320f for a 10 minute cycle to cure a resin. I am thinking of a controller with a sensor driving a cartridge heater or two. This is outside of my realm so I am asking for help picking it out. Once picked out I can...
Yeah, I got one. I know, Tormach, but it is just an automatic bandsaw, not a cnc milling machine. Anyway, I like it. It's the right size and it does what I need, which is to cut up bars for my aluminum and steel widgets. I barely have room for it so a "real" auto saw would be way too big. This...
I know it is kind of a dumb question but I just got a horizontal band saw and need to get some blades. I am looking for quality, especially in the weld, with good pricing both for the blades and shipping. I mainly cut 6061 aluminum bars with some 1018. Blade is 93" x 3/4". What and where please...
Maybe a dumb question but I have picked the wrong oil a couple of times now and they all need oiling again. I have 3 fans with sleeve bearings that I have to oil once in a while, shafts are 1/4" to 10mm. I have tried Vactra #2, which seems to leave a varnish, 3 in 1 oil, and sewing machine oil...
I have 200 small aluminum bars I need to face and would like the mill to pause while I swap parts without stopping the spindle. M0 stops it on my machine and G4 P999999999 will not resume with a cycle start signal. I am looking through the parameters to see if I can find where it either stops...
