There is a separate brake on the winch drum so I don't think it has to slip. A dog clutch that disengages should work and I think it would be dropped from the surface after emptying it so it wouldn't be under high load.
This is a multiple belt situation, the machine is currently clutched in a similar way at the engine but won't freewheel. I need a way to clutch it at the last driven pulley (a 16" diameter pulley). If there is no means of clutching at the shaft we plan to put a lever operated tensioner on the...
A guy i do work for from time to time brought me a piece of well drillers equipment. He wants a clutch added to the shaft so he can make it freewheel then re-engage it to drive pulley.
The shaft is 1-1/4" and there is plenty of free space at the end the pulley is mounted to. A centrifugal...
Purpose is random farm & repair tasks in high stress and high impact applications such as repairing fatigue fractures in farm equipment and industrial equipment and rebuilding said items. I may repair a cracked structural weld in mild steel, then weld a cylinder eye on the end of a cylinder so...
Sorry for any confusion, I've had several message asking about the titanium mentioned in the OP. It has all been sold, I can't edit the OP to remove the mention of the titanium. Apparently titanium is much h more sought after than Inconel.
The clamping thickness is adjustable but the rear most point that it pivots about is not so at any material thickness other that X, only the front edge of the finger is clamping the work. I'm just trying to figure out the max thickness a finger should be able to accommodate. If I go by a print I...
I have a 24" Diacro box & pan brake I got VERY cheap. It had been damaged and stripped of its fingers. I repaired the damage and I'm now making fingers. Diacro wants $1600 for a set of fingers, complete brakes go for around $1200-1700 used so I can't see spending that much just on fingers. I...
A few weeks ago I received a PM in response to a WTB add. The member told me to email a guy, he had what I needed and he would treat me right. I did, he is 100% a scammer. Only photos he has are scooped from Google, only accepts payment via Western Union. Very poor English and communication...
Good point! I would like 24" width of fingers (at least a few smaller widths) with a small radius, no larger than 1/8". But at this point, if someone had a set of 1/4 radius that they wanted to sell I would certainly consider it as it will get me operational faster than making my own fingers and...
They are very pricey, especially for a full set... I'm hoping to find someone that has some kicking around that they are looking to offload... Plan B is to make some on the shaper... I have some large chunks of A2 that I think would make great fingers if I can find somewhere to heat treat...
Yes, pictures 3 & 4 the forum flipped them upside down for some reason. I checked fleabay.
They are momentary buttons, one NO (the one I need) and one NC, for the magnetic contactor.
I have a Brodhead Garret 8" shaper I picked up in minty condition for a song! It's a bit smaller than I was looking for but the deal was too good to refuse. Small problem: the start pushbutton in the control box is broken. I've searched for a replacement and no luck. Any advice on how to...
I had wondered that but every tech article I could find stated the start winding was to be reversed. It's working now so I'm happy! Wife is happy we don't have to drop $1400 on a new motor!
