Curious what PM brothers think of this for a product offering.
1. Would you even consider swapping your cylinder to save X.xx grams of weight?
2. If yes, pricing? What would you think a fair price? $300 for a part on a gun that isn't much more new?
3. Market research; Not sure if anyone else is...
Opinions? If you had a turn-mill at your disposal, what type of insert cutter is underserved in the market today?
High feed through using unused edges of a CNMG432, for instance? Just one nutty idea...
Ps Not sure why there isn't a Brother forum.
Machining 4 axis slots was going fine until the dreaded SVP alarm.
Undeterred, I restarted the turning portion of the program only to find out that the brakes were still on which let out some smoke. .
Anyone have experience with this happening?
Out of the blue, this fiber optic drip sensor just up and quit sending a signal when a drip occurs. So, within under a minute of locking the C-axis the machine alarms out.
The calibration routine attached doesn't seem to be helping, as step 5) never shows the "8" or "9". And it could be...

A little loose,eh?
So what's the best course of action?
Junk the machine?
Swap in new rails and trucks?
Repair ( reball?) Trucks?
So much great info here!
TIA
Ive got this mori horizontal where the guides and screws all look dry (and very unfortunately the Y axis is noisy).
Any how the machine is equipped with two oil units that appear to be working. Easy to say as they are the oil dropper design where you can see oil dripping through the sight...
Hi guys,
Trying to do some ID chuck clamping.
I switched the parameter from 0 to 1 but the in position light on the control panel never activates. All seems well with the limit switch, as I even tried different positions with red and green prox-switch lights working fine.
No problems with OD...
If you made your own AR-15 upper design and some muzzle brake / flash hider designs, where would you sell them if you didn't really want to deal with a brick & mortar retail transactions?
seems ebay and amazon are out for at least the upper.
Not looking to setup my own website specifically for...
Hi guys,
Been doing some of my own product development work and have hit slow spot on customer work.
Please PM me if a Socal shop can work for you.
Not terribly interested in getting involved in your product development (i.e. "do this one real cheap and 500pcs order MIGHT follow). Would...
wanted to get experienced people's opinion:
460 in our facility
mori mill rated at over 200 amps@220
machine shipped with transformer.
99% chance seller had 460 in house (lol major assumption)
heavy wire is already run to the transformer which is stacked on top of machine
scope of work...
I seem to remember someone posting a macro for varying the spindle speed on an older okuma lathes that did not have the option.
well now i'm boring a part and badly need it and can't seem to google my way to the post, if it still exists...:scratchchin:
thanks in advance

Guys,
I'm quoting these Ti parts. Pretty simple round deals, except that the flange face and backside are not flat. Consistent wall thickness.
Just wondering if there was a way to program a lathe tool using the z axis to move in and out to interpolate the wobble.
I figure there's probably a...
Im quoting a job.
thinking to blanchard 6 x 16 inch 4340 plates HT'd to 38 Rc.
one side needs to be flat .005 and we only have about .050 room to cleanup 100%
10x 100 piece batches
what should it cost?
ok, going to show my ignorance on this.
i haven't been collecting sales tax for machined goods. I was figuring if they are for resale and the my customer has a resale permit.. then no state sales tax gets collected.
I recently had a customer add sales tax to my invoiced amount.!?! so it got me...
getting this intermittently.
VF3 loads new tool in spindle just fine, but the machine alarms out before swinging the arm away from spindle/ back to origin.
usually happens after on of those Haas-signature "hellacious bang" tool releases.
is it likely a bad switch or maladjusted one? if...

calc'd?
"set" to known value?
keeping my question simple for now, this is for a macturn with the square, lathe side / mill side turret).
Humble thanks for any suggestions
