Axle spindle repair
I’m curious if this is the correct approach as the bearing outer race is pressed into the hub but the inner race is a slip fit on the spindle. Don’t bearings like this wear out faster or overheat if both inner and outer races are fixed in place? -

Unclear: That taper will have to be turned not broached. Or do you mean to broach a keyway into the female taper? BilL D yes, I was unclear. The taper not the issue, I was referring to the keyway. Mud, thank you for the picture, gives me ideas. -

Methods to broach a tapered hub.
I have a hydraulic wheel drive motor that has a 1-1/2” per foot taper for the output shaft. I need to make a hub with same internal taper. I have a Dumont broach set for straight broaching but have never done a tapered internal broach. I have manual lathe, mill, press, broaches. Any suggestions... -

Plate Beveling
Some of the answers will depend on the length of the bevel. Shorties on small parts can be done on the mill. Large plates are probably gonna be done most economically with a motorized track and torch. -

OT - Using CO2 to euthanize a dog?
Necro thread. Pun intended. On a more serious note, try taking a whiff of CO2 gas sometime. You won’t like it. If you have normal physiology, the CO2 forms carbonic acid in your lungs which triggers you to breathe and the sensation is quite uncomfortable. -
