One of the questions being raised is the highest and best sales value. there is a huge difference in SS scrap prices but I am not even sure how you would reclaim the SS in such a vessel.
So.... we have an old "air receiver" (so we thought) at a property and were going to sell, but this is getting odd. The tank is around 2500gal, the outside is certainly steel, but the inside spins this in a totally different way! This tank is decades old, and someone spent their life with...
I hear that! Check 480 with a Harbor Freight meter No thanks!
If you don't have overloads on that motor, be careful as you can burn a motor if a leg is missing. Bad contacts are common, especially with 480.
I wonder what other fun stuff you will find...... no, that is not right. Someone will know that ballnut the glob of grease to me means they had a problem, squirted some shit in there, and made parts. I'd be checking backlash in several areas of that screw! It super annoys me because I bought...
Those numbers are better than most utility numbers and I will confirm a total non-issue right now, but you will see those change as you power up and run the machine. One of the issues with RPCs.
But I will confirm balance is not a concern, or the OL issue.
When in doubt, trip it out, and...
No insult to you whatsoever. Just saying that the broken record is "I hooked up my RPC so life is good", followed by "I have this problem". The very first things you do in any install (pro) is confirm phase rotation, voltage average, and voltage balance.
You wanna know how many times I've...
Oh boy. Yeah those are thermals, and yeah the use of an RPC matters.. Like a broken record. No one here understand voltage balance, current, etc.
I don't force the horse to drink anymore, just take them to the place. Go look up voltage balance and rotation. Get those things right as rain...
Yes, input voltage before the drive must match the spec of the drive. They have a decent range but you have to be within that. Higher voltage drives are cheaper for a given HP due to the reduced current, thus smaller internal components. Basically 10A at 240V or 5A at 480V as example.
The above is slightly in error. When converting 3P to 1P, you apply the square root of 3 or 1.732. However,, HP is HP, just as KW is KW. Doesn't matter. What does matter is amperage. Your power is 240V, NOT 220V and your machine is spec'd at 230V so it will be fine with 240V.
If you want...
You should change the start cap. Once you have let some smoke out, you have degraded the cap and likely to fail. When they do, many times they short and can take out the start winding in the motor. Ask me how I know. We got in the habit of installing a secondary fuse on the start circuit...
Do not put your lathe on a static converter unless you want to buy a motor.
You need to first check your L-L voltages on all 3 legs, then find yourself a fast meter to capture how low it's going. Having the Haas running won't do a single thing.
You need to get familiar with tuning the RPC...
I could type a novel about it, but the facts remain that there is a HUGE intelligence gap between Big Tech and the general population. The population can barely understand how to load an app, which is precisely what Big Tech wants. All those FORCED phone updates you get are all part of the evil...
You kidding? Everything for this guy is "wasted work" (his words). Can't check voltage, balance, amperage, nothing.. But he wants to add caps..............:bawling: Basically he wants someone on the Inet to tell him his issue because he is too lazy to troubleshoot the issue. I'd say let him...
Yup, I was helping in a friend's shop when they pulled in a Haas HMC. Put it on it's knees immediately. "haas power". Multiple other problems. Within 6mo dumped it when some new Jap iron showed up. Spindle loads down to 50% and all drama went away. Never understand why the USA can't build...
I think value is all over the map. Probably find an idiot to see that it turns on, the age, hours, and sign right up! Props to the owner for being upfront though! I've been over the microscope inspecting wet boards and I can tell you, it ain't good! Green crusties of death go to work quickly...
I'm afraid you are missing some of the electrical concept of an RPC. As someone that has built many, as well as dealt with compressor issues, I might try to help.
Before you do anything, I recommend you find a place with real 3P power to test that compressor. I have dealt with several...
