Anyone have any idea how to remove the cross slide on a Monarch AA? I have the taper attachment so I can't remove it from the back. I just need the feed handle block removed so I can pull it out the front, but there's no bolts or anything holding it on. I stuck a small wedge (read: screwdriver)...

To all you human metal-machine-encyclopedias out there, does anyone know what brand/age or anything at all about this shaper? It's a hobby one, 7" stroke and weighs maybe 1000 lb. There's a couple numbers in the castings on it, "A-1451-A" and "A1436C". Anything you know would be more than I know...
