FS 1992 FADAL 4020 : Asking $4800 or Best
Looking to sell a 1992 Fadal 4020. Its a DC servo machine with inch ball screws, CNC88 Controller, 10k Hi/Lo High Torque spindle, and rigid tapping. The XYZ axis move quietly and do not make any alarming sounds. The spindle belts are noisy (I can...
Is the thread important or is it only needed for assembling the two parts?
Perhaps you could push a ball bearing or cone shaped tool into the threaded side after assembly to swage it larger, that way it becomes an interference fit and cannot back out. You've got a good shoulder to index on, I...
I know it's no longer relevant but I am curious, how would the parts have come to you? Tangled up in a big bin or neatly stacked?
If they just show up in a bin I would imagine picking would be out of the question, it would be like trying to grab one fishhook out of a tangle of them.
Any chance you can show the mating part? Or at least the mating geometry?
Also, does the part look like what you have shown or is it longer? If it's really short like that I am thinking you could have a bunch of them wedm'd from a stack of plates. Once you have all the blanks you can grind the...
Thanks for the input michiganbuck
Grinder is located in Romeo, MI. 48065
I have a forklift and can load on a trailer. Machine weighs approximately 1500 lbs.
For Sale - 1999 Chevalier FSG 618M
Planning to take a 2-3 year break from self-employment to learn a different part of the trade and relocate.
Spindle Runs quiet and the grinder leaves a nice surface finish.
Automatic oiler works well, saddle ways are wet to the touch with oil.
Currently...
Looking to sell My 1999 Hwacheon Hi-Eco 21hs lathe.
It a fairly basic 2 axis cnc lathe with a Fanuc 18T control (I think 18Tc to be precise) It does not have rigid tapping or c axis/spindle indexing, I used a floating tap holder for tapping when needed. It does have synchronized threading...
bll230, I tried to respond to your pm but your inbox is full, Response below.
Sorry for the delayed response, I hope you were able to grind those parts without too much trouble.
Plunge grinding is done with no crossfeed motion, only table and downfeed are used. Each time you pass the wheel...
These parts will probably have scale on them from heat treating. It's extremely hard and will load up the wheel quickly, which in turn puts lots of heat into the part.
Given that the parts are small, have excessive stock, are made from an easy to grind material, and you are grinding dry, take a...
Not sure of your quantity, but I had luck doing 0-80 threads in a 5c grinding whirly. I would use 0.0625 rod - finish grind the diameter - and then put the whirly on a jig that would line up the whirly with the thread button and carefully thread by hand.
Stop putting Radius tolerances on arc segments, the Bigger the radius/shorter the arc segment the bigger the problem. Its near impossible to check, in 99% of cases a simple profile tolerance should have been used.
To further elaborate based on a print I have on hand. A 4" full diameter with a...
Magnetic cylinder squares can be finicky to use. Vises are good but as was already stated tightening them too much leads to poor results. Using C-clamps and known angleplates/master blocks works great as you can't really overclamp the part. The absolute best method is self checking via flipping...
Agree with this - would love to see progress pictures. One of my former coworkers managed to buy a small building that has zoned livable apartment upstairs and a shop space downstairs, I've always been a bit jealous of that, I'd love to find a similar setup someday - pack it to the brim with...
It sounds like you know what you want to do but will feel guilty for doing it.
In reality the only way to ever know if the guy really has those qualities is to hire him and find out, there is no such thing as a known entity until youve worked with them day in and out for years. The downside is...
Are you swaging (resizing via squeezing into tighter bore) just the bullet? Or are you talking about the entire bottleneck cartridge? Or are you cold forging your own bullets from scratch?
If it's just resizing the bullet It should just be a simple die button with the target diameter thru and a...
