I used to work on a lthe with the 8055, on some occasion on my co-worker's 8065 lathe. Prefered the 8055 by a mile, felt like the 8065 was a mill control made to work on a lathe...
For exemple you want the Turret to index to position 1, you have to have a tool in position one and call it . So...
OK I see what you want to accomplish.
You need to write a subprogram that is called within your main program (or probing program) to do that.
For exemple I had a subprogram that took care of the tool change on my lathe because I didnt like the one built in the machine, it did not took care of...
Thanks for all your reply !
I got it this morning. Looking in the parameters I could find the G54 parameter as 1221 but with the 4 axis... It did correspond to the G54 value I had, so I tried #600=#5222 and it worked ! #600 had the same value as the G54 offset ! Found that on the internet, no...
Hello!
I am looking for the variables of the G54 in fanuc 21, does anyone know what variable it is? for the Z offset, I have found either #5221-5228 or #2501-2601-2701-2801... I remember looking for those one day and could not find then in the control system variables...
What I would like to...
This is what i am looking for at the moment, after some research. With a mt4-mt4 extension I could also make short slender part that i cannot make at the moment, limited by the z-axis soft limit when trying to bring the tailstock close to the chuck with the turret.
That's what i think too, but the machine came with a live center, the manual says a live center for both live and normal quill so... I prefered to ask!
When we checked after reinstalling the quill, almost no run out, the needle did not move.
Hi all,
My lathe has a "live" quill, there is a mt4 sleeve inside that rotates. 4 bearing plus 2 roller bearing inside, we changed them recently. The tailstock was crashed by the guy on the machine before me, managed to bent the live center along with the bearing inside...
Anyway should a live...
thanks for your replies.
Yes in some cases the finish size is close from the raw stock, 169mm finished for 170 raw (more like 171 when measured...) but I can get around that by altering the process. Sort of shouldered flange, I can grip on where the shoulder side for op1, turn the short 169mm...
Hello !
two questions about clamping raw stock on lathe chuck. We run quite a lot of steel in (at least for me) quite big diameter, 150 to 200mm. Not too long pieces (max. 150mm) but stock have rust, scale and is not too round. My boss told me to use soft jaws bored to the stock diameter...
I checked the parameter, il can edit variables. Some of the 500 variables are used in the MTB own G and M code, so i think they have protected them ?
Anyway I czn use the variables up to 999, so even if some of the 500 variables are locked there is still plenty avalaible !
hello guys !
Continuing to discover the special features on my machine with a fanuc 21i-TB control. I attempted to reproduce a macro I had on my previous job, used #501 to #503 variables, got strange results. I went to check in the macro variables, I can't change the variable from 500 to 530...
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have always wondered: what are the advantages of theses tangential tool vs. old knux insert? I don't see them used much nowadays, don't know why? I think they are great for heavy roughing with their positive geometry, I am right? Never used they actually, if...
quick update: re-started this morning with the same tool, but changed to 0 .25mm left in X (radial) and 0.1 in Z. The insert moved again, I could see that the faces were not clean. Changed to a SECO DNMG finishing tool (clamped insert), no problem then. I could see some area on the face were...
press "X" or "Z" then "zero" (not the number, the button with zero written on it) and cycle start. Can only be stopped with the e-stop
see: https://aceronline.net/acergroup/atl_cnc_lathe_work/man_8055tc_opt.pdf page 40
Will try that tomorrow once back to work. The deflection/undercut makes sense with too much stock left on the faces. I'll check if the faces still have a good finish with less stock left.
Never had a problem at my old job with clamp and pin/screw MVJN holder at my old job. I only have screw...
thanks for all your replies !
yes right holder for the insert, both sandvik. Holder is almost new, still black with no chip marks and no visible damage (you know the "new tool" look!). insert not new, it has been doing some parts but not showing excessive wear. No problem of other people...
Hi all !
Got an "interresting" problem happening yesterday. Parts were running fine, and then the OD was .25mm lower !
Roughing was not broken so no finishing tool digging due to too much stock left. Finisher also not broken...
I'm using a VBMT insert with .4mm nose radius for finishing...
Hello! Did you try a zero reference return? My former fagor used to do that when it used to shut down by itself due to "electronic gremlins". Everything to zero (x, z, s, tools, tool change position...) but it came back to lire after a zero reference return.
